Daniele and Francesca have decided to build their home — and their life — in the mountains, surrounded by greenery and inspired by a simple, sustainable lifestyle. He is a musician and videographer, while she is a teacher and cooking enthusiast: together, they have created a project that combines hospitality, authenticity, and respect for the environment. They have painstakingly crafted every detail of the Straw House with their own hands, transforming an abandoned ruin into a vibrant and welcoming space that tells an alternative story of tourism. Their hospitality is sincere, attentive, and warm. They love to share with their guests the joy of good food, the bounty of the land, and their passion for this special corner of the Valle d’Aosta.

The House of Straw is situated in a peaceful and less touristy area of the Aosta Valley, nestled in greenery and surrounded by still-authentic landscapes. Its sunny and secluded location allows guests to enjoy the mountains in every season, away from the hustle and bustle and in direct contact with nature.

Just a few minutes from the property, you can find some of the region's most picturesque spots: the Fénis Castle, the Saint Denis Castle, the Saint-Barthélemy plateau with its spectacular cross-country ski trails and the astronomical observatory, and the Saint-Pantaléon pass leading to Torgnon, a perfect destination for winter sports and summer hikes along scenic routes like the Tour des Alpages. There are also charming villages like Chamois and Valtournenche, where the atmosphere of a respectful and authentic mountain life still prevails.
