  • Romantic atmosphere
Nestled in the tranquility of the Salento countryside, just a short distance from the historic center of Galatina, the agriturismo "La Campina de Don Paulu" welcomes guests to a traditional farm where a family atmosphere, delicious cuisine, and comfort come together for an authentic experience.

The accommodation consists of three rooms designed to meet various needs: double, triple, and quadruple. Each room is independent and equipped with a private bathroom, air conditioning, TV, internet access, minibar, hairdryer, drying rack, and a covered patio for moments of relaxation. On-site parking and free access ensure maximum independence during your stay.

The day begins with a hearty breakfast at a nearby affiliated establishment, while in the evening, guests can opt for half-board, which includes a dinner of two courses of their choice, along with wine and water, meticulously prepared by Chef Daniele, who passionately and creatively interprets the culinary traditions of the Salento region.

"La Campina" is a historic area south of Galatina, where a battle was fought in 1484 against the Republic of Venice. In this memory-rich location stands the farm, named after Paolo Vernaleone, a 19th-century physician and philanthropist, who is the grandfather of the current owner, Teresa. The main building, once used for winemaking, bears witness to the agricultural history of the estate, which is now dedicated to producing extra virgin olive oil, grains, and vegetables.

Those seeking simplicity, authenticity, and the genuine flavors of the land will find in this agriturismo an ideal retreat, where every detail tells a story and every dish evokes the warmth of home.
Rooms and Rates
Breakfast is served every morning at a nearby affiliated establishment and is included in your stay. It features a variety of fresh and wholesome items, including homemade pastries, artisanal jams, and seasonal fruit, allowing you to start your day with flavor and simplicity.
Upon reservation, half-board is available, which includes a dinner consisting of two courses chosen from three combinations: appetizer and first course, appetizer and second course, or first and second course. The meal is accompanied by water and wine and is prepared using fresh, local ingredients, following traditional Salentine recipes, occasionally creatively reinterpreted by Chef Daniele. The atmosphere is cozy and family-oriented, designed to provide a moment of genuine and relaxed togetherness.

Area Campagna

The area where the Agriturismo "La Campina de Don Paulu" is located is a corner of Salento that retains the rural and authentic spirit of Puglia. Situated south of Galatina, in the historic district of "La Campina," the landscape is marked by expanses of olive trees, dry stone walls, and cultivated fields stretching to the horizon, offering glimpses of rare beauty and a sense of tranquility that rejuvenates.

Galatina, just a few minutes away, is an artistic town rich in history and culture. Strolling through its historic center means immersing oneself in a labyrinth of cobbled streets, surrounded by baroque buildings, hidden courtyards, and ancient churches, among which the extraordinary Basilica of Santa Caterina d'Alessandria stands out, a gem of Puglian Gothic with frescoes reminiscent of Giotto's work.

In the surrounding area, the landscape offers routes that include fortified farmhouses, underground oil mills, and small villages that preserve traditional farming customs. Within half an hour's drive, one can reach both the sandy shores of the Ionian Sea and the rocky coasts of the Adriatic, providing a variety of landscapes and opportunities for seaside excursions.

The district itself, "La Campina," is part of the local historical memory: it was the site of a battle in 1484 against the Republic of Venice, which was won by the Galatina militia. Today, it is a place of peace, where history intertwines with daily life in the countryside, among rows of grapevines, fruit trees, and the slow rhythm of the seasons.

This area represents the most authentic side of Puglia, away from the crowded tourist circuits, yet rich in charm, genuine flavors, and silences that tell a story.
