Masseria Galeasi is a farmhouse accommodation situated in the heart of Puglia, housed in a meticulously restored historic agricultural estate. The original spaces have been preserved with respect for their identity, creating a setting where the rural history of the area harmonizes with the comforts of modern lodging.

Primarily constructed from tuff, a sedimentary rock that holds fossil traces of ancient marine environments, the masseria retains the authentic charm of the Puglian countryside. Surrounding the structure are elements that narrate the agricultural life of the past: caves, ancient stone shelters, water collection tanks, a well connected to drainage systems, and historic spaces like the Tower, the Pigeon Loft, and the Chapel. One of the caves even housed an important underground olive oil mill, reflecting the deep connection of the masseria with the land and its produce.

The apartments have been renovated in a simple style, preserving original materials and features wherever possible. Each unit includes a kitchen and its own outdoor area, providing guests with autonomy, privacy, and the opportunity to enjoy a leisurely and natural pace during their stay.

The accommodations reflect the history of the masseria in their names and layouts: La Caciaia, once used for cheese processing and smoking; Le Case Gemelle, where some families who worked on the estate lived; Il Pollaio, linked to the raising of small animals; Lo Stagionatoio, used for cheese aging; and the apartments in the Tower, the former residence of the owner and a lookout point for the estate.

Located in the Gravine Park in Grottaglie, the site offers easy access to some of the most captivating locations in Puglia and nearby areas. Taranto, the Itria Valley, Martina Franca, Locorotondo, Alberobello, Lecce, and Matera are all reachable by car, as are the Mar Piccolo, the Ionian Sea, and the Adriatic Sea. It is an ideal setting for alternating between beach days, cultural visits, exploration of the countryside, and moments of tranquility immersed in nature.

Masseria Galeasi

Area Campagna

Masseria Galeasi is located in Grottaglie, within the enchanting Terra delle Gravine Regional Natural Park. This area is marked by rocky landscapes, olive groves, dry stone walls, and deep rock formations that tell centuries of history and farming traditions. Here, Puglia reveals its most authentic face, away from the frantic pace of more touristy spots, amidst rural silence, nature, and ancient paths carved into tuff.

Grottaglie, renowned for its ceramic tradition, boasts a captivating artisan district where craftsmen and master potters still employ techniques passed down through generations. Strolling through the narrow streets of the historic center, one encounters workshops, churches, light-colored stone buildings, and views that blend art with Mediterranean identity.

The masseria's location allows for easy access to both the countryside and the sea. In a short time, visitors can explore the towns of the Itria Valley, such as Martina Franca, Locorotondo, and Alberobello, surrounded by trulli, historic farmhouses, and elegant squares nestled in the Apulian countryside. Nearby are also Matera, famous for its Sassi, and Lecce, known for its baroque architecture and the lively atmosphere of its streets.

For beach lovers, the area offers options between the waters of the Ionian Sea and those of the Adriatic Sea. The Ionian beaches feature sandy stretches and rocky coves, while the Adriatic coastline presents more rugged landscapes, sea caves, and crystal-clear waters. Taranto, a city situated between two seas, is also an appealing destination for discovering archaeological sites, waterfront promenades, and maritime traditions.

The surrounding area is perfect for those wishing to engage in nature and cultural experiences: excursions in the gravine, routes through farmhouses and vineyards, tastings of local products, food and wine trails, and walks through ancient countryside. Each season brings different colors and atmospheres, making the stay an authentic experience deeply connected to the land of Puglia.
