The farm holidays – bed & breakfast Masseria Uccio is located in Salento, amongst Otranto, Gallipoli and Santa Maria di Leuca. It is a typical rural building in the inland of Salento whose origins date back to the XVII century, with a courtyard which was restructured in full compliance with its origins and the spirit of the place.

Deep in the peace and calm of the countryside, it is the ideal place for holidays for people keen on rural tourism, as well as for those who wish to live in full contact of nature and fall asleep in a silence broken by the pleasant singing of crickets and balm.

In the morning an agreeable awakening is guaranteed by a rich breakfast made of genuine and homemade products and fruits picked up in the surrounding land the same day.

Masseria Uccio is one of the few Masserie in Salento with a view on the sea: the nearest resorts are far three kilometers only, easily reachable by car or, for willing people, by bicycle, gladden by the view of “pajare”, stoned walls and ancient masserie, through several country paths which make up the cycling route around the bed & breakfast.

In addition, its strategic position amongst Otranto, Gallipoli and Santa Maria di Leuca offers the opportunity to smoothly arrive at the most interesting places in Salento, a land full of history, tradition, culture and fragrances.

The rooms, obtained from ambient once dedicated to agricultural activities (the massaro and his family’s house, the stables and the sheepfolds, the storehouse), maintain the architectural forms and the ancient atmospheres of the place.

The work carried out by wise local artisans allowed to preserve the fireplaces made of stones, the niches dug-out in the walls, the tanks, the ancient vaults, all witnessing a modest peasant life in a distant past.

Cancellation conditions (except for non-refundable rates)

The penalty varies depending on the time of cancellation
- from time of booking to 21 days before the check-in date, no penalty is charged;
- from 20 to 15 days before the check-in date, you will be charged a penalty of 25% of the total cost of the booking;
- from 14 to 1 days before the check-in date, you will be charged a penalty of 25% of the total cost of the booking;
- A penalty of 25% of the entire cost of the stay is applied for failure to show or cancellation on day of arrival;

For non-refundable discounted rates, when the facility requires it, the guest must pay in advance as indicated to complete the booking. Payment is not refunded in the event of a cancellation.

Stayed with Francesco and Paola for 5 nights. We had originally booked for 3 only but we loved the Masseria from the minute we arrived so extended our stay! What can I say, the setting is wonderful the rooms are tranquil and of a very high standard. The beds were very comfortable with beautiful cotton linen. The breakfasts were outstanding with lovely home made treats every day. The Masseria is very well positioned for wonderful towns and beaches and well within reach of some pretty amazing restaurants. Francesco ad Paola were wonderful hosts giving us hints and tips of places to visit and to eat it. We will go back next year for sure. Thank you both so very much.

This is a wonderful Masseria. The rooms are tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The breakfast sensational with Paola preparing homemade regional dishes. The environment is peaceful and Francesco has unlimited local recommendations. Couldn’t recommend this property more.

We stayed here for 3 nights as part of a week long trip to Bari and absolutely loved it. The farmhouse is close to the town of Tricase and ideally located for visiting the coast and other towns and cities including Lecce and Bari. The farmhouse itself is stunning - simply but perfectly styled, super clean and comfortable room and a real haven of peace and tranquility. Francesco and his wife are fantastic hosts, providing all you need in terms of advice and recommendations for your stay - nothing is too much trouble, and we were delighted with all the recommendations made. The breakfasts were a highlight, with great local produce and plenty to go round. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this masseria to anyone, it's an absolute delight and absolutely great value.

Francesco and Paola were the best hosts we could wish for. Our family of 4 (2 adults 2 kids) stayed in the Lamia which was perfect. It was clean and perfect for our needs. Our boys don't like to share a bed so Francesco arranged a roll away for one of them. So far so great. We arrived late at night (9.30 pm) and Francesco was there to welcome us and show us around. Breakfast was delightful. Served in a shady courtyard there was plenty of local and home baked produce. The freshly picked tomatoes, plums, figs and prickly pears especially wonderful for a city dwelling family like ours. Francesco went out of his way to give us daily recommendations and booking things for us to do. We used the mountain bikes a few times and they were great. There was some lovely outside space for us to use and we "ate in" a couple of times (simply boiling pasta, making salad etc) which was easy as there was an equipped kitchenette in the Lamia. We would be so happy to recommend Masseria uccia to others. It's a little off the beaten track but for us that added to its charm. Its so peaceful and at night the stars stretched across the night sky. It's easy to access with a car and we drove to several gorgeous local beaches during our week's stay.

Paola und Francesco sind wundervolle Gastegeber. Sie sind sehr sehr herzlich und haben gute Tipps, was man in der Umgebung so machen kann. Die Masseria ist sehr ruhig und idyllisch gelegen. Alles blitzsauber und gut organisiert. Uns hat es da ausgezeichnet gefallen, und wir bedauern, dass wir nur 3 Nächte an diesem schönen Ort verbracht haben. Wir waren sicherlich nicht das letzte Mal hier.

Masseria Uccio è stata ristrutturata di recente ed è situata in una zona tranquilla appena fuori Tricase e in posizione comoda e strategica per esplorare le spiagge tra Otranto e S. Maria di Leuca e l'entroterra. La struttura è curata in tutti i dettagli ed è gestita con molta professionalità e cordialità da Paola e Francesco, sempre a disposizione per dare informazioni e consigli sulla zona (spiagge, ristoranti, negozi,... .). Per una colazione abbondante offrono prodotti freschi e genuini che variano tutti i giorni (colazione dolce e salata). La nostra stanza era grande, fresca e tranquilla, arredata con cura, attenzione per il dettaglio e stile. Nella parte esterna sono allestiti diverse postazioni di straio, tavoli e sedie per rilassarsi in mezzo alla natura e il silenzio. A disposizione degli ospiti c'è anche una postazione per fare il BBQ e un angolo dove stendere la biancheria da spiaggia all'aperto. A disposizione degli ospiti ci sono delle mountain bike; la masseria si trova su un percorso di ciclo turismo. Comodo parcheggio adiacente alla struttura.

Che meraviglia Masseria Uccio, dal vero ancora più bella che dalle foto su Internet. La masseria ristrutturata mantenendo tanti elementi autentici è una vera oasi di bellezza e tranquillità, un incanto immerso nella campagna di Tricase. La struttura è curata nei minimi dettagli con grande gusto e attenzione per i materiali usati, e con occhio attento alle diverse esigenze pratiche del turista. Un luogo VERO, dove si respira l'autenticità e la semplicità di una struttura rurale conservata senza stravolgerla dal suo assetto originale. Il mare del Salento a due passi. Colazione con dolce e salato fatta con prodotti locali e preparata in casa, ogni giorno diversa e originale. Camere grandi, pulite e molto belle. I proprietari fantastici sotto tutti i punti di vista, sempre pronti ad ascoltarti ed assecondare ogni richiesta. Un posto consigliatissimo e dove torneremo. Masseria tipica salentina, ben curata essenziale ma pulita. I proprietari Paola e Francesco sono molto disponibili, discreti e gentili. Colazione abbondante con torte fatte in casa da Paola e prodotti locali ottimi. Sicuramente consigliato.

Non esiste un voto per questo posto da quanto bene si sta, è a dir poco il paradiso. Posizionata a poche centinaia di m dal centro di Tricase (centro molto bello) questa masseria offre relax e tranquillità oltre che a cordialità e cortesia dei titolari (Francesco e Paola con il piccolo Walter). Le stanze sono molto comode, curate e molto pulite. Le colazioni sono a buffet e ogni mattina Paola vi farà trovare dolci, marmellate e altri cibi locali preparati da lei, Punto strategico per chi vuole spostarsi e vedere più spiagge. Chi decide di trascorrere le vacanze in questa terra meravigliosa non esiti a controllare la disponibilità di questa Masseria, Noi ci torneremo sicuramente presto. Complimenti a Francesco, Paola e Walter.

Siamo stati tre notti da Francesco e Paola e ci siamo trovati benissimo. Il posto è isolato e un'oasi di pace, ma in 5 - 10 minuti di macchina si raggiunge il mare. Tutto è molto curato e arredato con gusto, e la prima colazione era favolosa. Un ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo. Da consigliare vivamente.

Nei 3 giorni passati presso questo B&B abbiamo potuto apprezzare l'ottimo lavoro svolto nella ristrutturazione e la cura dei dettagli di questa masseria, lo spazio della stanza, delle parti comuni nel cortile ed anche del terreno nel quale fare delle belle passeggiate. Paola e Francesco, sempre molto cordiali e disponibili, ci hanno viziato con delle colazioni dolci/salate fantastiche. Ottimi anche i consigli su cosa fare/vedere nella giornata e sui ristoranti della zona.

Il mio soggiorno in Salento, ha visto come seconda tappa di tre, la Masseria Uccio. Che dire, faccio fatica a trovare le parole per spiegare cosa si provi lì. Francesco e Paola, sono riusciti a mantenere lo stile della masseria, ma con una cura dei particolari incredibilmente raffinata. Vi sentirete a casa! La colazione è qualcosa di speciale, Ogni mattina, oltre alle cose che lei propone di base, c'è una specialità diversa: una mattina noi abbiamo trovato la ricotta fresca ancora calda, presentata su di un piatto con sotto la foglia di vite. Dovrei scrivere molto di più, ma non basterebbe comunque per farvi capire cosa sia la Masseria Uccio. Andateci.

The Masseria is located in the open countryside, in the Tricase feud, a Municipality at the extreme of Salento peninsula, only 3 kilometres from its nice tourist small harbour. From here it is possible to reach in few minutes by car the most important tourist resorts of Salento (S. M. Leuca, San Gregorio, Otranto, Pescoluse, Gallipoli, Castro and Porto Cesareo).
Situated on the hill of Madonna di Fatima District, overlooking the near residential area, it enjoys unique calm and peace for a holiday far from crowded places and the city noises. The numerous pathways of the surrounding estates are perfect for long walks or bicycle ride in close contact with nature.

By car: Motorways A14 Milan-Bari or A16 Rome-Bari, BARI NORD exit, continue to SS (main road) 16 to Brindisi-Lecce. SS 275 to Maglie – S. M. di Leuca, after passing Montesano Salentino, exit to Tricase
By plane: BRINDISI Casale Airport (95 km) with a shuttle service to Lecce. Bari Palese Airport (180 Km). In Lecce it is possible to use the South-East Railways or the S. T. P. coaches
