The Wind's Rest is a genuine 19th-century trulli village, meticulously restored to maintain its original structure and period materials, from stone floors to ancient sinks. Surrounded by dry stone walls, Mediterranean scrub, olive groves, and vineyards, it offers a peaceful oasis immersed in nature, where guests can enjoy an authentic experience filled with the scents, colors, and sounds of the Apulian countryside.

The accommodations, furnished with natural materials, blend traditional charm with modern comforts, including air conditioning, TV, and a kitchenette. The spacious garden features a panoramic pool with a sunbathing terrace, pergolas, loungers, and sunbeds, making it perfect for relaxation on hotter days. Here, among centuries-old olive trees and organic fruit trees, guests can savor seasonal fruits or enjoy social moments with the barbecue and wood-fired oven, ideal for baking fresh bread and pizzas.

The ambiance encourages relaxation: horseback rides to the sea, rejuvenating massages, and wholesome breakfasts fill the days, while at sunset, an aperitif featuring local products celebrates the joy of embracing nature's slow rhythm. Each guest can find their own peaceful corner, whether reading in the shade of a tree, resting on a hammock, or simply listening to the silence of the countryside. Parking is available on the property.

You will find cookies and cakes of all kinds, freshly baked (with almonds, jam, ricotta, chocolate..) along with eggs, frittatas, omelets, savory pies, cheeses, focaccia, and sandwiches, as well as fresh vegetables.

The buffet is available from 8:30 to 10:00 AM.

Hey, I'm Francesca

My name is Francesca, and I come from Florence. After spending a considerable amount of time exploring various parts of the world, I decided, along with my Argentine partner, to settle in Cisternino in search of peace, tranquility, and authenticity. We have chosen a simple life, surrounded by nature and our four children, all born here, as well as our beloved animals, including dogs, cats, horses, sheep, and chickens, which bring vibrancy and joy to our days. Thanks to our experiences as travelers, we understand how important it is for tourists to be guided in discovering local wonders, traditions, and gastronomy. For this reason, we are happy to assist our guests in planning itineraries and selecting the best restaurants, always ready to provide support for any needs.

Area Campagna

Nestled in the countryside of Casalini, a district of Cisternino, Il Riposo del Vento is perfectly positioned for exploring the Itria Valley and the wonders of Puglia. Just under 1 km from the village center, shops and restaurants are easily accessible via a pleasant stroll through the rural lanes.

The main towns in the Itria Valley, such as Cisternino, Ostuni, Martina Franca, Locorotondo, Alberobello, and Ceglie Messapica, are about a 20-minute drive away, offering a journey through history, culture, and local traditions. In just an hour and a half by car, you can reach both ends of the region, from the Gargano and Castel del Monte to Lower Salento and Santa Maria di Leuca, not to mention the nearby UNESCO World Heritage Site of Matera.

For nature and sea enthusiasts, the area boasts the best of two coasts: the Adriatic, with the Torre Guaceto nature reserve, and the Ionian, with its white sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters. Among the nearby attractions, the Castellana Caves, the archaeological park of Egnathia, the Fasano Zoosafari, the ceramics of Grottaglie, and the renowned Primitivo di Manduria wineries offer unique experiences for every taste.

Bari and Brindisi airports are located 80 and 45 km away, respectively, ensuring convenient connections for those arriving from other regions. This is an ideal destination for those looking to discover Puglia in all its beauty, featuring authentic villages, breathtaking landscapes, and timeless traditions.
