In the heart of the medieval village of Pontone, surrounded by terraces of lemons and vineyards, Palazzo Verone welcomes guests to a historic residence with medieval origins, once owned by the noble Verone family. From its windows and balconies, visitors can enjoy breathtaking views that extend from the Amalfi Sea to the Gulf of Salerno, encompassing the Valle delle Ferriere Nature Reserve and the picturesque Villa Cimbrone in Ravello.

The interior spaces, adorned with terracotta floors and 19th-century frescoes, provide an authentic and relaxing atmosphere. The two carefully decorated rooms come with private bathrooms, satellite TV, safes, Wi-Fi, and sea views, ensuring a comfortable stay; one room is equipped with air conditioning, while the other remains naturally cool due to its hillside location. Common areas include a bright lobby with a tea corner and a lounge overlooking the sea, perfect for moments of relaxation or evenings with friends, including live music.

The day begins with an Italian breakfast featuring pastries, cereals, eggs, jams, and seasonal fruit. The location, situated halfway between Amalfi and Ravello, allows for easy exploration of the entire Amalfi Coast and its iconic destinations like Positano, Praiano, and Conca dei Marini, as well as captivating sites such as Pompeii, Herculaneum, Paestum, Sorrento, Capri, and Ischia.

The village of Pontone is also the starting point for a trail leading to the Valle delle Ferriere, a unique nature reserve that is home to the rare pre-glacial fern Woodwardia Radicans, set amidst waterfalls and tropical-like vegetation. The tranquility of the area and the beauty of the scenery make waking up in this setting an unforgettable experience.

To reach the palace from the village square, guests must climb 190 steps; it is advisable to bring light luggage and, if needed, request assistance from the owner.

Area Collina

Pontone, a district of the municipality of Scala, is a medieval village perched between the sky and the sea, surrounded by a landscape of exceptional beauty. Its cobblestone streets, stairways, and flower-filled squares lead to scenic viewpoints that overlook the Amalfi Coast, providing breathtaking views of Amalfi, Ravello, and the Gulf of Salerno. The village retains an authentic and serene atmosphere, away from mass tourism, making it an ideal starting point for those who enjoy exploring the history and nature of the area.

Just a few minutes away is Amalfi, an ancient maritime republic, known for its famous Cathedral of St. Andrew, cloisters, and lively streets filled with shops and historic cafés. Close by is Ravello, an elegant destination renowned for the gardens of Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone, which offer stunning vistas and host internationally acclaimed cultural events.

Pontone also serves as a gateway to the Valle delle Ferriere Nature Reserve, a protected area featuring waterfalls, streams, and lush vegetation, home to the extremely rare Woodwardia Radicans fern, which survived the ice age. Hiking enthusiasts can traverse trails that wind through ancient paper mills, watermills, and terraced lemon groves, enveloped in an atmosphere of timeless charm.

Its strategic location allows for day trips to other highly interesting destinations such as Positano, Conca dei Marini, Cetara, and Vietri sul Mare, as well as historical and archaeological sites like Pompeii, Herculaneum, and Paestum. During the summer, ferry connections from the nearby port of Amalfi provide access to Capri, Ischia, and Sorrento, offering even more opportunities for exploration.
