The Dimora is located in Corano, a small village nestled in the Val Tidone, within the province of Piacenza, surrounded by gentle hills adorned with vineyards, castles, and ancient hamlets. This region, still authentic and less frequented by mass tourism, provides a relaxing and rejuvenating travel experience, attuned to the rhythms of nature and local traditions.
The valley is well-known for its agricultural and wine-producing heritage: the cultivated slopes yield high-quality wines such as Gutturnio, Ortrugo, and Malvasia, which can be tasted directly at the cellars of small producers, often located in charming stone farmhouses. The culinary offerings are completed by the generous and simple cuisine of Piacenza, featuring traditional dishes like pisarei e fasò, tortelli with tail, and DOP cured meats such as coppa, pancetta, and salami.
Val Tidone is also an ideal destination for outdoor enthusiasts. The Sentiero del Tidone runs alongside the river of the same name and offers hiking and biking trails immersed in greenery, suitable for all levels. Additional routes are provided by the CAI, crossing forests, hills, and areas of great natural beauty, perfect for walkers, cyclists, and photography lovers.
During the summer months, every village in the valley comes alive with folk festivals, sagra events, and cultural activities that celebrate local traditions through music, performances, and traditional dishes. From Corano, it's easy to reach historical points of interest such as the Castle of Zavattarello, the Rocca d’Olgisio, or the medieval village of Bobbio, making the Dimora an excellent starting point for exploring the Piacenza hinterland.
