Perched on a hill, the estate features a grand villa, elegant guest accommodations, a park with terraces and a solarium, as well as a renowned wine cellar.
The lively town of Velletri is easily accessible from Rome via train and bus, with departures every 20 minutes and a travel time of approximately 50 minutes. The residence is conveniently close to the Castelli Romani Natural Park and within short distance of fascinating locations south of Rome:
- Frascati (20 km), known for its stunning Renaissance villas and traditional "Fraschette," where visitors can enjoy local dishes from the Castelli Romani paired with fine international wines.
- Castel Gandolfo (15 km), the Pope's summer residence, overlooking the picturesque volcanic lake.
- Nemi (10 km), a charming village famous for its delicious wild strawberries and the well-known lake, surrounded by woods where the Temple dedicated to Diana Nemorense once stood during Roman times; today, remnants can be seen near the Museum of Roman Ships.
- Ariccia (15 km), featuring the majestic Palazzo dei Principi Chigi, also famous for being the filming location of the movie "The Leopard" and the series "Pride." Here, in the "Fraschette," one can savor the renowned "Porchetta," a delightful roasted suckling pig.
Don’t miss a visit to Tivoli (about 40 km), famous for its three magnificent villas. Other places worth exploring include Marino and Grottaferrata (20 km), home to the ruins of the ancient city of Tusculum, where Cicero had his summer residence. Heading south, be sure to visit Sermoneta (20 km), with the Caetani Castle and the beautiful Ninfa Gardens (W.W.F.).
Finally, Velletri boasts attractions such as the Civic Museum, the Diocesan Museum, the Cathedral of San Clemente, and the Torre del Trivio, along with its exquisite wine. The coast of Anzio and Nettuno, visible from our B&B, is only 25 km away, while S. Felice Circeo and Terracina, with the majestic Temple dedicated to Jupiter Anxur, are easily reachable.
