Nestled in the forests of Monte Cimino, just a few kilometers from the lakes of Vico and Bolsena, B&B Pontepietra serves as a perfect retreat for those looking to immerse themselves in nature and explore the historical and artistic treasures of the Tuscia Viterbese region. Etruscan necropolises, medieval villages, Renaissance villas, and thermal springs provide a beautiful backdrop for a stay that blends relaxation with culture.

The farmhouse is situated on a three-hectare estate that slopes down to a stream. Amidst ancient oaks, chestnuts, and an olive grove overlooking the Tiber Valley, large boulders covered in moss and the ruins of a 17th-century farmhouse create a picturesque landscape. The main building is the result of expansions made over various periods: the oldest part dates back to the 18th century, while the central section was built in 1939. On the ground floor, which was once used for sheltering animals, a stone-carved grotto is still visible.

The rooms, each featuring a private bathroom and uniquely decorated, allow guests to choose their preferred atmosphere for their stay. The common areas, thoughtfully renovated, retain original features such as the breakfast room converted from the old stable, where the rings used for tying livestock are still present. Guests also have access to a library and a relaxation area with a massage bed.

The B&B's central location makes it easy to reach the main attractions in the area: the beech forest of Monte Cimino, the Sacred Grove of Bomarzo, Villa Lante, Viterbo, Civita di Bagnoregio, and the historic towns of Vitorchiano, Tuscania, and Tarquinia. Wellness enthusiasts can enjoy days at nearby spas or relax by the lakes. For dinner, guests can take advantage of collaborations with restaurants in Soriano or enjoy takeout meals comfortably at the facility.

B&B Pontepietra offers attentive and genuine hospitality in a countryside setting that encourages rest, woodland walks, and excursions through history and nature.
Rooms and Rates
The day begins with breakfast served in a room converted from the old stable of the farmhouse, where the rustic ambiance blends with the aroma of freshly baked bread. You will find coffee, tea, milk, yogurt, cereals, fruit juices, homemade pastries, and jams, along with biscuits and toast. Upon request, eggs, cheeses, and cold cuts can be added for a more substantial and complete breakfast. When the weather permits, you can enjoy breakfast outdoors, taking in the tranquility of the garden and the surrounding greenery.
For dinner, there's no need to go out: thanks to our partnership with several restaurants in Soriano, you can order traditional local dishes and enjoy them comfortably in the common room or, during the summer, under the gazebo in the garden. We provide dishes, cutlery, and glasses at no extra charge, allowing you to dine in complete relaxation. Some restaurants also offer home delivery, enabling you to savor local specialties without sacrificing the peace of the B&B.

Hey, I'm Marco

A few years ago, motivated by my love for nature and a desire to restore a historically rich place, I made the decision to revive this ancient stone farmhouse. Today, I personally welcome guests to the B&B Pontepietra, providing genuine and discreet hospitality designed to ensure relaxation and well-being. I live next to the property, allowing me to be readily available for advice on excursions, cultural visits, and activities in the Tuscia, while still respecting the guests' privacy during their stay.

Area Collina

The B&B Pontepietra is situated in the heart of the Tuscia Viterbese, a region steeped in centuries of history and featuring unspoiled natural landscapes. Nearby, Monte Cimino overlooks the valley with its UNESCO World Heritage beech forest, providing ideal trails for hiking and leisurely walks among ancient woods. Not far away, the Sacred Grove of Bomarzo – known as the Park of Monsters – captivates visitors with its enigmatic sculptures and Renaissance allure.

Art and architecture enthusiasts can explore Villa Lante, one of the finest examples of Italian gardens, as well as the Farnese Palace in Caprarola and the city of Viterbo, renowned for the medieval district of San Pellegrino and its historic thermal baths. A bit further, you can reach Civita di Bagnoregio, the "dying town," a village suspended in time, along with the charming centers of Vitorchiano and Tuscania.

This area is rich in Etruscan heritage, with necropolises and archaeological sites that narrate the origins of this ancient civilization. The lakes of Vico and Bolsena, with their beaches and swimmable waters, provide options for summer relaxation and water sports.

Tuscia is also known for its authentic flavors: among olive groves and vineyards, one can discover wineries, oil mills, and trattorias serving traditional peasant dishes and fine wines. In every season, this region offers unique experiences that blend nature, history, and gastronomy, making a stay at B&B Pontepietra the perfect starting point to explore a captivating and lesser-known territory.
