Villa Erika is more than just a tourist accommodation; it is also a small family-run farm nestled in the lush countryside of Itri. Surrounded by 265 olive trees, it produces a high-quality extra virgin olive oil in limited quantities, primarily intended for family consumption but available in small amounts for guests. The harvest takes place in November when the olives take on a distinctive pink-green hue, and the milling occurs within 24 hours, exclusively using fruits picked from the tree. The result is an oil with a deep green color, rich in chlorophyll, boasting a fruity aroma with a subtle spicy note. This year’s chemical analysis confirms an acidity level of 0.1%, indicating an exceptionally high-quality product.

Guests can savor our oil paired with the typical flavors of the Aurunci region, such as local cheeses, cured meats, and the famous brined Gaeta olives, complemented by the wild aromas of the surrounding countryside, including thyme, oregano, wild mint, and asparagus.

The pristine environment surrounding Villa Erika, along with its proximity to the wooded areas of the Aurunci Park, provides opportunities to spot wildlife such as martens, porcupines, foxes, wild boars, and hedgehogs, as well as numerous bird species, including the fascinating hoopoe. The hilly climate ensures a pleasantly cooler temperature of 4-5 degrees compared to coastal areas like Formia, Sperlonga, and Gaeta, making Villa Erika the perfect retreat to relax after a day at the beach.

For those who wish to enjoy lunch or dinner without cooking, it is possible to book a fixed menu featuring meat (30 euros per person) or fish (40 euros per person), prepared with fresh and genuine ingredients.

Area Campagna

Villa Erika provides the ideal blend of seaside and countryside, offering a stay in a serene oasis just a short distance from the beautiful beaches of Sperlonga, Formia, and Gaeta, all reachable in only 15 minutes. Located 350 meters above sea level, the property enjoys a cooler climate than the coast, perfect for unwinding after a day at the beach.

Surrounded by a landscape of oak trees, cork oaks, and Mediterranean scrub, Villa Erika is nestled in the heart of the Aurunci Regional Park, a protected area where nature and history intertwine. Itri, the birthplace of Fra’ Diavolo, still features its captivating medieval castle, while Formia is home to archaeological treasures such as the Tomb of Cicero, the Cryptoporticus, and the charming Roman harbor. Sperlonga, with its white village and crystal-clear sea, is famous for the Tiberius Cave and the archaeological museum.

From Formia, a key railway hub connecting Rome and Naples, you can embark on trips to the enchanting islands of Ponza and Ventotene, perfect for an unforgettable excursion.
