Fontanegli is a peaceful retreat surrounded by greenery, located less than 20 minutes from downtown Genoa and just 7 km from the Genoa East motorway exit, near the Staglieno Monumental Cemetery. This area offers a captivating blend of nature and history, featuring residential villas alongside ancient 17th-century mansions, scattered along the typical Genoese paths that wind from the valley floors to the ridges of the surrounding hills.
The region is famous for its culinary heritage, with numerous trattorias serving authentic Ligurian flavors. Two highly regarded establishments, known for their quality and affordability, are located just 400 meters from the B&B and can be easily reached on foot.
For those arriving by car, accessing the area is straightforward. From the Genoa East motorway exit, simply follow the provincial road towards Piacenza for about 7 km, alongside the right bank of the Bisagno River. After passing several warehouses and the So.Ge.Gross wholesale store, you will reach a roundabout; from there, follow the signs to Fontanegli by taking Via G. Da Verrazzano. After a few curves, you will see signs for the B&B on the right. Continue for 500 meters until the end of Via Serropiano, following the directions.
It is important to note that the area is rural, with access roads that are not very wide, but they are navigable by all standard-sized vehicles. Larger vehicles, such as Hummers or long-wheelbase vans, may face difficulties, while cars up to 485 cm in length and 195 cm in width can access the area without issues if driven carefully.
Fontanegli is an ideal choice for those looking to stay in a relaxing environment immersed in nature, while still being close to the sea and the heart of Genoa.
