The B&B Due Fiumi 1908 is situated in Travacò Siccomario, at the heart of the Lombard countryside, in a prime location between the Ticino and Po rivers, within the Ticino Park, one of northern Italy's most picturesque and protected river areas. Here, the landscape unfolds into a sequence of cultivated fields, rows of poplar trees, walnut woods, and scattered small farmhouses, creating a still authentic rural scene where nature dictates the pace of the day.
This area is ideal for those who enjoy walking, cycling, and nature excursions: the paths along the riverbanks lead to charming views, featuring tranquil waters, local wildlife, and serene atmospheres. It’s common to spot herons, egrets, and cormorants, while the scenery changes with the seasons, offering a variety of colors and scents.
Just a few kilometers away lies Pavia, a city of art and culture, known for its famous historic center filled with medieval towers, Romanesque churches, university courtyards, and the Covered Bridge over the Ticino. A visit to the Certosa di Pavia, a monumental Renaissance complex set in greenery, is a must. The area is also well-connected to Milan, which is about an hour's drive away, making it perfect for a trip combining contemporary culture and shopping.
The surrounding territory still retains traces of its agricultural history and the ancient farmhouses of Siccomario, of which the house hosting the B&B is a rare example. It’s a place that encourages slowing down, reconnecting with the environment, and discovering a genuine and lesser-known side of Lombardy.
