Parlasco is situated in a prime location between the lake and the mountains, nestled in the heart of Alta Valsassina, just a few kilometers from the eastern shore of Lake Como. This village, among the smallest in Italy in terms of size and population, is surrounded by the Northern Grigna Regional Park, an area of significant natural value extending to the slopes of Sasso Mattolino and the scenic Passo Agueglio.
The town is famous for its seventeen murals that adorn the facades of the houses, vividly and uniquely depicting the legend of Lasco, the bandit of Valsassina, a figure both historical and popular, embodying local identity and folklore. Walking through the streets of Parlasco feels like stepping into an open narrative.
The region is particularly favored by hiking, trekking, and nature enthusiasts, thanks to the numerous trails winding through forests, alpine pastures, and scenic peaks. Within a short drive, one can reach notable attractions such as the Orrido di Bellano, the romantic Varenna with Villa Monastero, the Cortabbio Mines, and the Tartavalle Thermal Baths with its craft brewery. In winter, the ski slopes of Pian delle Betulle and Alpe Cainallo provide snow-filled days in a family-friendly and peaceful setting, while in summer, Alpe Giumello is a perfect destination for hiking and paragliding.
Connections are convenient due to the proximity to the provincial road that runs through the valley, bus lines to Lecco, Bellano, and Premana, the Bellano Tartavalle Terme train station on the Milan-Tirano line, and ferries departing from Bellano and Varenna to explore Lake Como. Additionally, the area offers essential services such as a pharmacy, bank, supermarket, restaurants, pizzerias, and a well-equipped lido, making it a complete and welcoming destination for all types of travelers.
