La Casa del Borgo

Nestled in the greenery of Valtravaglia, just a short distance from Lake Maggiore and on the edge of the Campo dei Fiori Regional Park, the B&B La Casa del Borgo welcomes guests in the hamlet of Ca’ du Bas, situated at an elevation of 500 meters, within a small cluster of rural homes surrounded by forests. This quiet and secluded spot offers stunning views of the Lombard hills and the nearby Swiss mountains, providing an authentic connection with nature and the opportunity to experience unique moments of wildlife observation, including deer, foxes, dormice, and various birds.

Ideal for hiking or mountain biking enthusiasts, the B&B serves as the perfect starting point for exploring nature trails without the need for a car. Despite its green surroundings, its privileged location allows for easy access to Luino, Varese, Lugano, and even Milan or Malpensa Airport in under an hour.

The establishment, an old stone and wood house renovated with respect for its original architecture, features an attic area with a double bedroom, a small room with bunk beds, and a bathroom with a tub, as well as a second bathroom with a shower on the lower floor. Breakfast is served in the cozy living area with a loft or outdoors in the garden available to guests. The well-equipped kitchen allows for heating beverages or storing food year-round.

La Casa del Borgo promotes sustainable tourism: it uses energy-efficient light bulbs, eco-friendly cleaning products, and utilizes a photovoltaic system to power its laundry service, provided free of charge on sunny days. Breakfasts are prepared with fresh products, often sourced from local producers. Pets are not allowed, and smoking is prohibited inside the premises.

The road leading to the B&B continues towards Alpe San Michele, an ancient alpine pasture at 1000 meters, perfect for walks and featuring a scenic refreshment stop. The surrounding area offers outdoor experiences such as horseback riding, sailing courses, paragliding, and hang gliding. It is also rich in cultural offerings, from the botanical gardens of Villa Taranto to the Borromean Islands, as well as Orta San Giulio, the Sacred Mountain, and Swiss cultural events like the Locarno Film Festival or the Lugano Jazz Festival.
