Il Picchio

The Picchio is a charming villa nestled in nature, surrounded by a spacious garden and adjacent to an oak and chestnut forest. Its prime location, just a short walk from Lake Mergozzo and on the doorstep of Val Grande, provides serenity and a refreshing atmosphere, filled with the sounds of the woods and birdsong. The blooming park, adorned with azaleas and camellias, is home to squirrels and deer, but it is the woodpecker that truly stands out in this peaceful retreat.

This family-run establishment offers discreet and attentive hospitality, managed by Maurizia and Giovanni alongside their children, Giulia and Lorenzo. The two available rooms ensure privacy and comfort, each featuring a private bathroom, independent entrance, small refrigerator, kettle for tea and herbal infusions, and autonomous heating. The private parking and expansive green area enhance the overall enjoyment of the stay.

Breakfast is one of the highlights of the visit: prepared with fresh, organic, and local products, both sweet and savory, it is served with care every morning. On beautiful days, guests can enjoy it on the panoramic balcony overlooking the lakes and mountains.

For those seeking a more independent stay, Il Picchio also offers two self-contained apartments on one level, surrounded by the garden. Each apartment can accommodate up to four guests and includes a living room with kitchenette, a bedroom with direct access to the garden, a bathroom with shower, and a furnished covered terrace, perfect for outdoor lunches and dinners. Guests also have access to private parking, a garage, a washing machine, barbecue facilities, and the option to receive fresh bread and croissants each morning.
