Once a convent and later the summer residence of General Giovanni Durando, Villa Durando now welcomes its guests in a setting that retains its historic charm. Every detail has been meticulously preserved or restored to maintain the original spirit of the estate. Nestled in lush greenery, the villa is just a few kilometers from the historic center of Mondovì and the picturesque hills of the Langhe, making it an ideal starting point for exploring enchanting landscapes and enjoying the region's rich culinary offerings.

The accommodations consist of six rooms, plus a suite and two junior suites, all decorated in a classic style with wooden floors, ornate ceilings, TVs, minibars, hairdryers, and bathrobes. Some rooms are interconnected, making them suitable for families or groups of up to five people. Additionally, two independently furnished apartments are available for longer stays, featuring equipped kitchens, living areas, and lofted bedrooms, all with beautiful views of Mondovì Piazza.

Inside the villa, guests will find a library stocked with historical volumes and modern reads, a fully equipped gym, a steam room, and a sun terrace with a pool. In case of rain, the indoor gym is available for use. The athletic track and adjacent five-a-side football fields can be accessed directly from the property. There is also a bicycle rental service, with the option for pickups at the end of excursions, along with logistical support for those undertaking long hikes.

The Giaccone family is always on hand to offer personalized recommendations, maps of the area, and assistance. Guests can request outdoor barbecues, enjoy packed lunches for excursions, and purchase fresh produce from the garden. Every morning, a breakfast featuring local ingredients—both sweet and savory, often prepared on the spot—is served, including dishes like scrambled eggs.

Throughout the year, the region hosts numerous events: the Television Festival in Dogliani, the costumed Napoleonic battle in Cherasco, the Collisioni festival in Barolo, truffle fairs in Alba, and the fat ox fair in Carrù, along with a variety of food and antique fairs. The ski slopes of Pratonevoso are easily reachable by car in just twenty minutes.

Villa Durando is a place that tells stories, welcomes guests warmly, and provides an enriching experience filled with relaxation and discovery.
