Poecylia is the realization of Piero Giaculli's dream, envisioned as a sanctuary removed from the passage of time, where nature and contemplation blend into a singular experience. Together with Simona Iurza, he has created a space for meditation and introspection, honoring the wild and untouched essence of San Pietro Island. The name Poecylia is inspired by a photograph taken by Giaculli in 1995, featuring two little fish in a perfectly mirrored position, symbolizing balance and duality. It was only years later that the remarkable coincidence with the island's ancient name, Poikilos, associated with myths and legends, was discovered. As an explorer and photographer, Giaculli was the first to unveil the hidden beauty of Becco Bay, a secluded spot inhabited by hawks, cormorants, and dolphins, where the silence transforms into a mystical experience. Poecylia serves as his invitation to slow down, to reconnect with the authentic essence of nature, and to be guided by the harmony of the location.
