Just a few minutes from the historic center of Noto, nestled within 15 hectares of organically cultivated citrus groves, Agriturismo A Lumia welcomes guests to an authentic corner of Sicily where nature and landscape blend seamlessly with the tranquility of the countryside and the scent of citrus fruits. From the hill where the property is situated, one can enjoy a breathtaking view of the baroque city and the surrounding countryside, characterized by hills and rows of lemon and orange trees.

The agriturismo features eight tastefully decorated rooms, each with a private bathroom, as well as an independent apartment that accommodates five guests. Common areas include a spacious lounge for guests and a shaded garden, perfect for outdoor breakfasts or relaxation after a day of hiking. Guests also have access to a barbecue for al fresco lunches and dinners amidst the greenery.

Since 1960, the farm has been producing organic lemons, oranges, almonds, extra virgin olive oil, and Nero d’Avola, all of which can be purchased on-site or shipped directly to your home. During their stay, guests can participate in guided tours and witness the harvesting process, connecting with the cycle of the earth.

Its strategic location makes A Lumia an excellent starting point for exploring southeastern Sicily, from Syracuse to Modica, Scicli to Ragusa, and extending to the beaches of the Vendicari Nature Reserve and coastal towns like Marzamemi.

Agriturismo A' Lumia

Area

The A Lumia agriturismo is situated in a prime location on the hills surrounding Noto, nestled in the tranquility of the countryside yet just two kilometers from the historic center of the city, which is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site for its remarkable baroque architecture. This proximity allows visitors to fully appreciate the beauty and ambiance of the city while enjoying a refreshing natural space, complete with rural paths, citrus trees, and panoramic views that encompass the silhouette of the ancient city.

The area is rich in historical, artistic, and natural treasures. In less than half an hour, one can reach Syracuse, with its Greek ruins and the charm of Ortigia, as well as Palazzolo Acreide, another baroque gem set among the Iblean plateaus. The landscape is dotted with nature reserves, such as Vendicari, which features pristine beaches and trails through Mediterranean flora and wetlands frequented by flamingos. The beaches of San Lorenzo, Calamosche, and Porto Palo invite visitors to enjoy days by the crystal-clear sea and unspoiled nature.

Artistic destinations like Modica, Scicli, and Ragusa Ibla serve as open-air museums where baroque architecture blends with the stone and light of Sicily. Fishing villages like Marzamemi, with its seaside squares, add a picturesque and authentic touch, perfect for those who wish to explore local culture through cuisine and traditions. Thus, the agriturismo's location makes it easy to explore the entire southeastern Sicily, alternating days of cultural discovery with moments of relaxation immersed in nature.
