Area Campagna

Nestled in the area of Paceco, just a few kilometers from Trapani, this property enjoys a prime location for exploring one of the most captivating regions of western Sicily. Here, the countryside meets the sea, creating a landscape enriched with olive groves, vineyards, historic salt pans, and expansive horizons that accompany visitors throughout the year.

Nearby lies the Trapani and Paceco Nature Reserve, one of the island’s most picturesque environments. Among ancient windmills, salt pans, and shimmering water bodies that take on vibrant hues at sunset, one can observe numerous species of migratory birds, including the iconic pink flamingos. This unique setting is one of the most recognizable symbols of the Trapani province.

The center of Trapani is easily accessible within minutes. Its elegant streets, baroque churches, historic palaces, and seafront entice leisurely strolls through art, culture, and maritime traditions. Daily hydrofoils depart from the port to the Egadi Islands, regarded as some of the most beautiful destinations in the Mediterranean. Favignana captivates with its turquoise waters and ancient tuff quarries, Levanzo retains an authentic and relaxed atmosphere, while Marettimo offers pristine landscapes perfect for nature lovers and hikers.

History enthusiasts can explore some of Sicily's most significant archaeological sites. The ancient Phoenician city of Mothia, located on a small island in the Stagnone lagoon, narrates centuries of Mediterranean civilizations. Segesta houses one of the best-preserved Doric temples in the world and a magnificent Greek theatre overlooking the surrounding hills. Selinunte, with its majestic monumental remains, represents the largest archaeological park in Europe.

About half an hour's drive away is Erice, one of Italy's most charming medieval villages. Its cobblestone streets, ancient fortifications, and views stretching from the Egadi Islands to the African coast provide an unforgettable experience. The village is also famous for its pastry tradition and the timeless atmosphere that permeates its walls.

For beach lovers, there are numerous opportunities. The beaches of Marausa and San Teodoro offer shallow waters and calm seas, ideal for families. Continuing along the coast leads to the renowned locations of Scopello, Macari, and San Vito Lo Capo, celebrated for their crystal-clear waters, spectacular landscapes, and distinctive Mediterranean ambiance. Don’t miss the Zingaro Nature Reserve, a protected stretch of coastline where scenic trails and untouched coves alternate in a remarkably beautiful setting.

This area is also an excellent destination for food and wine enthusiasts. Marsala, world-famous for its wine, is home to historic wineries that can be visited and boasts a rich cultural heritage tied to winemaking traditions. In local markets, trattorias, and restaurants, visitors can discover the authentic flavors of Trapani's cuisine, from fish couscous to tuna specialties, from salt pan products to traditional Sicilian sweets.

Staying in this part of Sicily means having access to an extraordinarily diverse landscape where the sea, nature, archaeology, historic villages, and local traditions coexist in close proximity, allowing for varied experiences each day without the need for lengthy travels.
