"An oasis beneath the volcano" in Zafferana Etnea is a charming ground-floor cottage nestled in a lush garden. The interior spaces are spacious and elegantly furnished. Each room comes with a private bathroom, air conditioning, heating, a mini-fridge, and a hairdryer. The entrances are private, and parking is available within the property, accessible through an automatic gate. Outside, you will find ample shaded areas, a picnic spot with a barbecue and a table with benches, as well as a play area for children. During the summer, the pool is open for your relaxation.

This is the perfect place to indulge in some peace and quiet and serves as an excellent starting point for exploring Mount Etna and the entire eastern Sicily.

Rooms and Rates

Every morning, from 8 to 10, we will welcome you with a hearty and wholesome breakfast, designed to help you start your day with flavor and a positive mood. The aroma of freshly baked bread and warm croissants mingles with that of coffee brewed in a moka, and we also offer espresso, instant coffee, tea, milk, and juices to satisfy every preference.

You will find tarts, pastries, cookies, yogurt, cereals, butter, and jams, along with seasonal fresh fruit. And we cannot forget one of the local specialties: the fragrant, golden honey from Zafferana, perfect for enjoying on bread or simply on its own.

For those who prefer, a savory breakfast is also available upon request.

We are located in Zafferana Etnea, on the eastern slope of Mount Etna, in an ideal spot to discover the most authentic Sicily. From here, it takes just twenty minutes by car to reach Rifugio Sapienza, the starting point for hikes on the southern side of Etna and for skiing during the winter season. Similarly, in just twenty minutes, you can unwind on the beach at Fondachello di Mascali, where the crystal-clear waters of the Ionian Sea await.

Our establishment is perfectly situated in the heart of eastern Sicily, making it easy to explore cities and towns rich in history, art, and traditions. Acireale, Catania, Taormina, Messina, and Syracuse can all be reached in a short time, turning every outing into an enjoyable adventure.

We are in the hamlet of Poggiofelice, about 2 km from the center of Zafferana Etnea. If you are coming from Catania, you can find us easily: we are on the second street to the right off Via Poggiofelice, specifically on Via Chiesa Antica. Nearby, within 200 to 350 meters, you'll find a tobacco shop, a pizzeria, a takeout pizzeria, a rotisserie, and a shop selling honey and souvenirs—perfect for a quick meal or a small local purchase.

The surrounding hamlets—Fleri, Pisano Etneo, and Sarro—enhance the local atmosphere with their peaceful environment and proximity to the trails and landscapes of the Etna Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site and a true paradise for nature lovers and hikers.
