At Agriturismo Fattoria Bigongiari, life flows in harmony with the genuine rhythms of the Tuscan countryside. Located just 7 km from Lucca, along the route to Viareggio and the beaches of Versilia, the farm welcomes guests into a vibrant and authentic rural setting where interaction with nature and animals is an essential part of the experience.

This property, passed down through generations and currently managed by brothers Mario, Carlo, and Annibale Bigongiari, is home to cows, pigs, donkeys, ducks, geese, chickens, and peacocks, all contributing to a unique and enchanting atmosphere. There is also an on-site shop, run by Annibale, where visitors can purchase sausages and cured meats made using traditional methods, along with other fresh produce from the farm, such as meat, eggs, and cheese.

Guests can choose from seven apartments converted from historical buildings of a 17th-century villa, carefully restored to blend ancient charm with modern comfort. The accommodations are named after the farmworkers who once lived there and can accommodate between four to seven people, making them perfect for families and groups. Each apartment is equipped with a kitchen for a fully independent stay and features outdoor spaces to relax in the shade of the garden.

The location is ideal for alternating peaceful days amidst the countryside's colors with excursions to nearby art cities. In addition to Lucca, which can be reached in just a few minutes, visitors can explore Pisa with its famous tower, Florence with its Renaissance masterpieces, and Livorno with its port. The sea is also just a short fifteen-minute drive away, between the lively Viareggio and the golden beaches of Versilia.

Fattoria Bigongiari is the perfect choice for those seeking authenticity, simplicity, and a family-style hospitality that embodies the passion of those who love and deeply connect with their land.

Hey, I'm Annibale

The Bigongiari Farm is run by brothers Mario, Carlo, and Annibale Bigongiari, who inherited their love for the countryside and farming from their parents. They take care of the animals and agricultural activities each day, while also providing a warm, family-like welcome to their guests. Annibale specifically manages the farm's shop, where he produces and sells cured meats and sausages made using traditional family recipes, thus offering an authentic taste of the local flavors.

Area Campagna

The Bigongiari Farm is located in Farneta, amidst the lush countryside of Lucca, an area that offers authentic glimpses of Tuscany. Being just 7 km away from Lucca allows visitors to explore a charming and compact city, renowned for its well-preserved Renaissance walls, the Cathedral of San Martino, lively squares, and narrow streets filled with shops and cafés. Strolling along the tree-lined walls provides a unique view of both the city and the surrounding hills.

Not far away lies Versilia, featuring the sandy beaches of Viareggio and its famous promenade. This region is known for beach holidays, vibrant nightlife, and elegant atmospheres, as well as its renowned Carnival, one of the most spectacular in Italy. In just over twenty minutes by car, one can reach Pisa, home to the iconic Leaning Tower and the impressive Piazza dei Miracoli, while Florence, the cradle of the Renaissance, is about an hour away and boasts an unmatched artistic and cultural heritage.

Nature enthusiasts can enjoy hikes in the Apuan Alps, where scenic trails and marble quarries await, or explore the San Rossore Park, a protected natural area that features forests, dunes, and untouched coastal stretches. The surrounding hills also invite pleasant walks through medieval villages, Romanesque churches, and vineyards, offering opportunities to taste local wines and traditional specialties.

Thus, the farm’s location is perfect for experiencing a variety of activities: the peace of the countryside, the allure of art cities, and the vibrancy of the sea, all within a few kilometers.
