The area where Agriturismo Ferri is located is one of the most captivating in Tuscany, blending the charm of the countryside with proximity to the sea. We are situated in the heart of the Etruscan Coast, a stretch of coastline rich in history, nature, and traditions, where the silhouettes of medieval villages contrast with long sandy beaches and dense coastal pine forests.
Just 5 km away are the beaches of Marina di Bibbona, known for their spaciousness, golden sand, and quality waters. Behind them lies the Tombolo Pine Forest, which provides shade, coolness, and the opportunity for enjoyable walks or bike rides throughout the year. The sea, with its sandy and shallow seabed, is also perfect for families with children.
Within a short drive, you can reach other coastal gems: the grey beaches of Cecina Mare, the bright white sands of Vada and Rosignano Solvay, or the steep cliffs of Calafuria and the Gulf of Baratti, which offer breathtaking views and an archaeological site of great importance linked to the ancient Etruscan civilization.
The inland region boasts the beauty of a hilly landscape adorned with vineyards and olive groves, home to villages such as Bibbona, Bolgheri, Casale Marittimo, and Castagneto Carducci, ideal for strolling through narrow streets, artisan shops, wineries, and traditional restaurants. Bolgheri, located about 10 km away, is famous for its cypress-lined avenue and is one of Italy's wine capitals.
For nature and trekking enthusiasts, the nearby Macchia della Magona is a green oasis of significant natural interest, featuring over 1,600 hectares of Mediterranean forests and a network of marked trails. Also in the vicinity, the WWF Bolgheri Oasis offers an important protected area where many species of birds and wildlife can be observed.
There are plenty of family-friendly activities available, such as the Gallorose Biopark, which houses over 150 animal species, or amusement parks like Il Cavallino Matto and the Acqua Village in Cecina. Close to Cecina is the archaeological site of the Roman villa of San Vincenzino, and about 30 km away lie the Archaeological Parks of Baratti and Populonia.
The area is well-equipped with amenities: within a few kilometers, you will find supermarkets, shopping centers, pharmacies, a hospital, and all the necessary services for a comfortable and peaceful stay. Its central location also makes it easy to visit Tuscany's major art cities like Pisa, Volterra, San Gimignano, Livorno, and Florence on day trips.
