In the heart of the Tuscan hills, surrounded by wheat fields, olive groves, and lush green paths, Agriturismo San Carlo and I Reucci welcomes its guests into an authentic setting where daily life aligns with the rhythms of nature. Located just a few kilometers from Volterra and the Etruscan Coast, it serves as an ideal destination for those wishing to rediscover the essence of slow travel, dedicating time to explore the area, its agricultural traditions, and the charming small towns steeped in history.

The property consists of two farmhouses situated approximately 700 meters apart, enveloped by abundant and tranquil nature. The apartments, accommodating between 2 to 6 guests, are furnished in a Tuscan style with original early 20th-century elements and equipped with all modern comforts, including a fully equipped kitchen, a living room with a sofa bed, a private bathroom, and a veranda or balcony overlooking the garden or hills. Each farmhouse features a swimming pool with a sunbathing area, spacious green areas, children's play equipment, barbecue facilities, and a skating rink.

Sustainability is one of the core values of the agriturismo: all agricultural production is entirely organic, energy is sourced from renewable resources such as solar thermal and geothermal steam, and the kitchen emphasizes a short supply chain. The garden provides fresh ingredients daily for breakfast and dinners served on the panoramic terrace or in the restaurant of the San Carlo farmhouse. Jams, flours, artisanal pasta, homemade desserts, local cheeses, and meats create a menu that changes daily, reflecting the seasons and availability of local produce.

Open year-round, the agriturismo also offers cooking classes, guided horseback rides, excursions in the surrounding area, and mountain bike rentals. An electric vehicle charging station is available for guests.

Since 1986, Bruno, Paola, Simona, and Monica's family has carefully tended to every detail to provide a welcoming, authentic, and relaxing stay, perfectly in tune with the surrounding environment. It is a place to rediscover the joy of simple pleasures, good food, and unspoiled nature.
Rooms and Rates
Breakfast is one of the favorite moments for our guests. It is served on the spacious panoramic terrace of the San Carlo farmhouse, overlooking the Cecina River valley, the Sillana Fortress, and the Berignone Nature Reserve. Each morning, we offer pastries and brioche made with our organic flour, homemade jams crafted from the fruits of our orchard, honey from our hives, and, upon request, local cheeses and cured meats. It’s a genuine awakening, simple yet full of authentic flavors, in perfect harmony with the surrounding environment.
The restaurant at the agriturismo is located within the San Carlo farmhouse and offers a different menu each evening, exclusively crafted for guests based on the daily availability of produce from the garden and seasonal ingredients. There is no fixed menu; each dish is inspired by the land and a passion for Tuscan cuisine.

The meal begins with an appetizer featuring fresh vegetables, local cured meats, artisanal organic cheeses, jams, and honey. Next, the pasta is made from flours derived from ancient grains that are grown directly in the farm’s fields. The main courses highlight local meats with dishes that reflect traditional farming practices. The desserts are homemade, using eggs and flours produced on-site.

Dinner service is available by reservation and requires a minimum of eight people. The half-board option is perfect for those who wish to enjoy Tuscan cuisine every evening in a family atmosphere, surrounded by the tranquility of the countryside.

Hey, I'm Monica

Since 1986, the agriturismo has been passionately managed by Bruno, Paola, Simona, and Monica, who warmly welcome every guest with kindness and readiness to help. Their constant presence, combined with an authentic understanding of the area and a deep connection to the land, makes each stay a genuine experience where guests immediately feel at home. The focus on details, dedication to the kitchen, commitment to sustainability, and the desire to share the beauty of the Tuscan countryside are the driving forces behind this family-run establishment.

Area Collina

The area where Agriturismo San Carlo and I Reucci is located is a genuine corner of Tuscany, surrounded by an unspoiled rural landscape characterized by gentle hills, ancient forests, olive groves, and cultivated fields. We are situated in the municipality of Pomarance, in the heart of the Alta Val di Cecina, a region that retains its agricultural identity and the subtle charm of the less-traveled parts of Tuscany.

Just 4 km from the town center of Pomarance, which can also be reached on foot via quiet back roads, the agriturismo serves as an ideal starting point for hiking, biking, or horseback riding. The surrounding area is crisscrossed by ancient trails, many of which lead to churches, medieval villages, mills, and ruins hidden within the vegetation. A short distance away lies the Berignone Nature Reserve, a protected area of extraordinary beauty, rich in wildlife and featuring paths through the Mediterranean scrub.

The location is strategic for visiting many of the region's renowned art cities: Volterra is just 20 km away, known for its Etruscan and medieval historic center, museums, and alabaster workshops. San Gimignano, the town of towers, can be reached in about an hour, as can Siena, Pisa, Lucca, and the Chianti Classico region. Florence is a little over an hour and a half by car.

For those who love the sea, the Etruscan Coast is only 35-40 km away, offering a diverse coastline with sandy beaches, shaded pine forests, and seaside villages rich in tradition. The mild and breezy climate, even in summer, makes for a pleasant stay at any time of year.

This part of Tuscany is perfect for those seeking an experience away from mass tourism, in harmony with nature, local culture, and the authentic rhythms of rural life.
