Casa Formica is a small and quiet Bed & Breakfast in the municipality of Cascina in the province of Pisa. Located just 6 km from the historic center of Pisa and 20 km from Lucca.

Located in a green countryside area, consists of 3 holiday houses/apartments in a peaceful place. The perfect destination for those looking for relaxation and comfort.

The best solution to visit the main art cities of Tuscany, and at the same time enjoy an holiday by the sea easily reaching the nearby towns of Marina di Pisa and Tirrenia, and with a few more minutes the famous Versilia.

Ideal for those who want to spend a pleasant stay and visit the main attractions of Tuscany, all relatively close and attainable within a short time: Pisa 7 km, Lucca 22 km, Volterra 65 km, Florence 80 km, San Gimignano 85 km, Siena 115 km away.

Its ideal location, right near the eastern outskirts of Pisa, makes it convenient for those who decide to reach Tuscany, landing at the nearby airport "Galilei" (far from the B&B just 8 km) and then rent a car for the stay.

B&B “Casa Formica” is a brainchild of Iacopo and his mother Cristina, which have been growing the desire to keep in close contact with guests. They decided to transform their home into a warm, discreet and welcoming place.

“Casa Formica” offers three housing solutions:
The Apartment “Mary” (from 1 to 5 beds)
The Apartment "Formichino" (from 1 to 4 beds)
The apartment “Iacopo” (from 1 to 2 beds)
- Apartment “Mary”: totally independant from the rest of the house, is obtained from an old barn and has a fully equipped kitchen (with all household appliances), a large living room with a fireplace, a bedroom and a bathroom.

- Apartment 'Formichinò is a rustic outbuilding newly built large about 40 sqm.

The property features beamed ceilings, as the tradition of the typical rustic Tuscan farmhouse. The apartment consists of a equipped kitchen with dining room, bedroom, bathroom with shower, a private garden and parking. The property can accommodate up to 4 people and is ideal for a couple or a family with children.

- Apartment “Iacopo”: Kitchen, living room wit a double bed, bathroom with shower.

In the entire hotel beamed ceilings stand out as the tuscan house tradition.

Highlight of the entire building is the garden (over 2500 sqm), fully equipped with tables, chairs and umbrellas to allow our guests to enjoy their breakfast outdoors (in fine weather), relax after a day of "hard work" or reading a book under one of the big mulberry trees that dominate the entire vegetation.

Quiet location just over 7 km from Pisa. Fantastic family to look after your every need. Iacopo and his parents took care of us so well that we didn't want to leave. The 'Casa Formica' exceeded my expectations, the breakfast was sumptuous and the surroundings were just what we needed after the hustle and bustle of both Pisa and Florence. Good train service to all of Tuscany.

Excellent welcome from the owners who do not hesitate to give good advice. Very pleasant and clean holiday home. The place is peaceful. I spent a few great days with the family. I felt like a family member since we lived in the same house and also shared the dining areas. The breakfast was completely tailored to me. It was a wonderful stay, immersed in nature and tranquility, in a beautiful structure in the outskirts of Pisa and the center reachable in 15 minutes by car. Casa Formica has all the comforts, new and tasteful bath and bed linen. The house is also very well furnished and lacks nothing. Excellent and much appreciated the welcome of the owner Jacopo, whom I greet and thank for the beautiful days spent in his splendid structure.

Very pleasant welcome and stay made simple and enjoyable thanks to the presence of not only beautiful but also useful furnishings. There is a library and a beautiful green space. Like being at Casa Formica and maybe even better. It's the first time we find ourselves with no notes to make: everything perfect! Beyond expectations. Super helpful, kind, and caring manager. We stayed in the finely furnished annex complete with everything. The huge well-kept garden and the silence around were an additional treat.

Beautiful brand new structure, super clean and fully equipped with every comfort imaginable in a bed & breakfast. Spacious and comfortable rooms, complete bathroom with large shower, very comfortable beds, peace and tranquility of the Tuscan countryside with the center of Pisa just 15 minutes away by car. Very large furnished garden with games for children and private areas for guests, abundant and varied breakfast, very kind manager providing advice and information on the best tourist itineraries in the area and various attractions or places. Everything you could wish for is here. Highly recommended. We stayed in a separate villa from the main building and had exclusive access to a two-room apartment with a large double bedroom, walk-in wardrobe, large bathroom and living room with full kitchen and French double sofa bed, all brand new and spotless, with everything needed for hot drinks and basic cooking ingredients available, while in the bathroom there were even makeup remover wipes, plasters, sanitary pads, and cotton wool. Outside we had a large furnished patio reserved just for us where we could have breakfast in good weather. I gave a 9 only for the location because for some people centrality is important and the structure is located in a quiet village on the outskirts of Pisa and not in the city, but for me this is a plus because you can enjoy great silence and peace, have a personal indoor parking space available and avoid spending hours looking for parking in the very chaotic, crowded center of Pisa with a great shortage of paid parking lots. It is ideal for moving towards the tourist locations in the area.

For those looking for an apartment as a base for excursions in the area, I would say that Casa Formica is a perfect location. Additionally, the beautiful garden and the tranquility of the place allow you to rest between one tour and another. Perfect cleanliness, new environment. Abundant breakfast and, above all, with the possibility of personalizing it because the manager is very helpful and asks you day by day. Pisa is close by, the Certosa is 15 minutes away, Lucca is 35 minutes away. The sea is nearby. If I were to return to the area, I would have no doubts in choosing it again.

Dear Jacopo, Cristina, and Mario, we really had a great time. Thank you for the conversations and the time you dedicated to us! The room, more than a room I would say an apartment, had towel changes and daily cleaning of the rooms. Many books and magazines were available for guests! The farmhouse has been renovated in what I would say is a perfect way, the place is delightful, immersed in greenery, and at night there is magnificent silence. We could not enjoy the well-kept garden due to the bad weather that did not give us a break, except for the day of departure. Highly recommended.
