Born and raised in this corner of Tuscany, she knows all its secrets and is eager to share them with her guests. Her presence is subtle yet attentive; she lives just a bit lower down from the farmhouse, allowing her to offer assistance and advice whenever needed, all while respecting the privacy of those staying there. By her side are her husband, son, and parents, who warmly and willingly help maintain the family's welcoming atmosphere in the establishment. For Barbara, hospitality means conveying the tranquility and authenticity of rural life, giving visitors the feeling of being part of a true home, characterized by simplicity, smiles, and genuine hospitality.

Area Campagna

The area where the farmhouse is located is one of the most picturesque settings in Tuscany, where the countryside unfolds into gentle hills adorned with vineyards and olive groves, interspersed with small medieval villages that have remained largely untouched. The nearest town, Certaldo, is divided into two sections: the lower part, lively and convenient for services, and Certaldo Alto, a charming fortified village accessible via a funicular. Here, time seems to stand still amidst cobbled alleys, artisan shops, and historic buildings, including the Palazzo Pretorio, the church of Saints Thomas and Prosper with frescoes by Benozzo Gozzoli, and the home of Giovanni Boccaccio, who lived and wrote in this area.

A few kilometers away lies San Gimignano, a UNESCO World Heritage site, renowned worldwide for its towers that rise above the landscape and its historic center bustling with restaurants, shops, and medieval squares. The atmosphere within the stone walls and the crowded streets of travelers is unique, with plenty of opportunities to sample the famous Vernaccia wine.

The farmhouse is also ideally situated for reaching some of Italy's most beloved art cities: Florence, with its Renaissance masterpieces; Siena, with Piazza del Campo and its Gothic Cathedral; Pisa, home to the famous Leaning Tower; and Lucca, known for its monumental walls. Charming villages such as Monteriggioni, Volterra, Colle Val d’Elsa, and San Miniato enhance the itinerary, offering more intimate and authentic experiences.

The surrounding nature is equally generous: the trails of the Canonica hillside park, the paths leading to the clay hills, or the SentierElsa along the river allow for immersion in unspoiled landscapes. Food and wine enthusiasts can explore the Chianti wine routes and visit local wineries and olive oil mills, where tradition and quality reflect a deep connection to the land.
