Collecottage is a cozy and intimate retreat nestled in the tranquility of the Tuscan countryside, just a short distance from the village of Colle di Compito. Surrounded by hedges that ensure privacy and overlooking an olive grove and a bamboo forest, it blends traditional charm with modern comforts.

The location is perfect for exploring Tuscany: Lucca is only a 15-minute drive away, Pisa is half an hour away, the beaches of Viareggio are less than 40 km away, and Florence and Volterra can be reached in about an hour. A nearby bus stop makes it convenient to get around even without a car.

The cottage, renovated with terracotta floors and artisanal details, features a well-equipped kitchen, a bathroom with a shower, and a comfortable double bed. Outside, the 7x12 meter saltwater pool, open from late April to September, invites relaxation, complemented by sun loungers and outdoor dining areas. The gardens filled with olive trees and roses create a serene atmosphere, while the fireplace adds charm to the cooler evenings.

Guests can purchase the extra virgin olive oil produced from the surrounding land and can request the use of a washing machine. Nearby, there are plenty of farmers' markets, restaurants, and cafés where one can savor authentic Tuscan cuisine.

Collecottage is managed by Dominick, who chose to settle here permanently in 2020 after many years in the United States. A theater and acting enthusiast, he welcomes guests with the same warmth that has always characterized his family. Area Collina

Colle di Compito is situated at the base of Monte Pisano, in a lush countryside that retains the essence of the most genuine Tuscany. The surrounding area is a patchwork of ancient olive groves, vineyards, waterways, and quaint villages that invite a slow and passionate exploration. This region is renowned for its production of high-quality extra virgin olive oil, which can be sampled at local farms, as well as for its camellias, which take center stage every spring in an international exhibition attracting visitors from across Europe.

Just a few kilometers away lies Lucca, known for its walkable Renaissance walls, Romanesque churches, and elegant squares, including the charming Piazza dell’Anfiteatro. Pisa, home to the famous Leaning Tower and the monuments of Piazza dei Miracoli, is only half an hour away, while Florence, with its artistic masterpieces, and Volterra, an Etruscan town perched on the hills, can be reached in less than an hour.

For nature enthusiasts, Monte Pisano offers trails for hiking and scenic walks, while to the west, the Versilia coast, featuring Viareggio and its expansive sandy beaches, provides days of sun and fun. In nearby towns such as Buti, Vicopisano, and Montecarlo di Lucca, visitors can discover medieval castles, Romanesque churches, and ancient food and wine traditions.

This part of Tuscany is perfect for those who wish to blend culture, relaxation, and nature, experiencing authentic moments amidst breathtaking landscapes and historically rich villages.
