Tempo Lento is situated in Villecchia, a small village in Lunigiana where silence, nature, and the slow pace of everyday life still take center stage. The village lies at the end of the paved road: it is not a place people pass through, but a chosen destination for those wishing to escape traffic and find peace, authenticity, and unspoiled landscapes.
Surrounding the area are chestnut forests, ancient paths, and cycling routes that cross one of the most charming regions of northern Tuscany. From here, you can follow parts of the historic Via Francigena, explore castles, ancient churches, and quaint medieval villages, or reach the Cinque Terre National Park and the Ligurian coast in about thirty minutes.
The valley, which has a highway toll booth and a train station, is approximately 10 kilometers away and is also served by a bus service with a few daily departures; Pisa airport is about 70 kilometers from here. Only a few residents live permanently in the village, and there are no shops: the nearest bar is about 2 kilometers away on foot or 5 kilometers by car, while bakeries and stores can be easily accessed in nearby towns. This intimate and service-free environment helps create an atmosphere of complete tranquility, perfect for those wanting to rediscover the joy of time spent without hurry.
