The Casa della Guia is a charming home set within a traditional Tuscan farmhouse, nestled amidst the lush countryside of Querce, a hamlet of Fucecchio. Located in a peaceful residential complex of farmhouses, it offers a private and tranquil setting, perfect for those wishing to experience Tuscany at a slower pace without sacrificing easy access to art cities, historic villages, and natural trails.

The entire house is available to guests and can accommodate up to four people. On the ground floor, there is a fully equipped kitchen, a living room with a sofa and TV featuring Netflix, a guest bathroom with a washing machine, and a cozy relaxation room overlooking the swimming pool. The kitchen includes a traditional coffee machine; however, there is no dishwasher or pod coffee maker.

The sleeping area on the upper floor comprises two air-conditioned double bedrooms and two bathrooms—one with a shower and the other featuring a whirlpool bathtub. The bedrooms also have mosquito nets. The interiors maintain a rustic charm inspired by Tuscan tradition, complemented by amenities designed to ensure a comfortable stay throughout the year, including Wi-Fi, satellite TV, and a masonry fireplace that adds a special ambiance during the cooler months.

One of the most enjoyable spaces of the property is the garden that surrounds the house on three sides. Here, guests can spend their days outdoors and enjoy exclusive use of the in-ground pool, built in 2023, which includes a shallow area, an outdoor solar shower, an umbrella, and sun loungers. There is also a dedicated barbecue area, perfect for garden lunches and dinners using products sourced directly from local producers.

Access to the property is through a shared automatic gate, for which guests receive a remote control, and a reserved parking space is available within the residence. The house operates independently, but Guia remains a valuable point of contact throughout the stay. She works from a private annex from approximately 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and can provide assistance, information, and recommendations as needed, while respecting guests’ privacy.

Additional services can be arranged upon request, such as a private chef, beauty treatments, and massages. Guia can also help organize local experiences, including walks, trekking, horseback riding, and, with prior booking, visits and boat trips in the Fucecchio Marsh.

The location allows for an easy balance between days of absolute relaxation in the countryside and exploring Tuscany. Nearby is the Fucecchio Marsh, one of the region’s most fascinating natural environments, and a section of the Via Francigena trail that passes close to Galleno, about a kilometer from the house. From here, guests can follow scenic routes through woods, ancient paths, Ponte a Cappiano, and areas leading toward Fucecchio and San Miniato.

Several major Tuscan cities are also easily reachable: Lucca is around a 20-minute drive, while Florence and Pisa are approximately 40 minutes away; the sea can be reached in about 45 minutes. Thus, Casa della Guia is an ideal choice for those seeking nature, privacy, and authenticity, with a convenient location to explore the diverse charms of Tuscany.

Hey, I'm Guia

Guia was born and raised in Florence and maintains a deep connection with Tuscany, its nature, traditions, and lesser-known places. A certified environmental hiking guide, she decided to move to Querce di Fucecchio in 2020, drawn by the peaceful countryside and the chance to live daily surrounded by greenery. Her passion for the region is an essential part of her welcoming approach. She enjoys walking through the woods, organizing trekking and horseback riding tours, and guiding guests to explore routes away from the busiest tourist paths. During their stay, she is happy to recommend villages, museums, local festivals, traditional eateries, and places to experience authentic cuisine, as well as nature activities like boating in the Padule di Fucecchio, available by reservation. For Guia, hospitality is primarily an opportunity for connection and sharing. She personally welcomes guests and remains a discreet point of reference for information, advice, and assistance, while respecting their independence and privacy. Her firsthand knowledge of the area allows visitors to experience their stay not just as a holiday but as a chance to connect with the most genuine side of Tuscany.

Area Campagna

The Casa della Guia is located in Querce, within the territory of Fucecchio, surrounded by a peaceful and genuine Tuscan countryside, amidst woods, country roads, and landscapes that encourage slowing down. This area is particularly suited for those who love nature, walking, and small historic towns, as well as for those seeking a convenient base to explore some of the region’s most beautiful cities.

About one kilometer from the house lies the route of the Via Francigena near Galleno. From here, you can follow enchanting walking trails through the forest and continue towards Ponte a Cappiano, featuring the characteristic Medici bridge, then on to the countryside leading to Fucecchio and, beyond the Arno River, to San Miniato. This territory is ideal for trekking, horseback riding, and spending days outdoors.

Among the main natural attractions in the area stands the Padule di Fucecchio, one of the most important wetlands in Tuscany. Canals, water surfaces, marsh vegetation, and numerous bird species characterize an environment of great scenic and natural interest, which also preserves traces of local history and the ancient relationship between inhabitants and waterways. By reservation, it is possible to experience the Padule through special boat tours.

Nearby, you will find villages, ancient churches, historic villas, farms, and small producers where you can discover wines, olive oil, cured meats, cheeses, and other Tuscan traditional specialties. Markets, festivals, and village fairs also allow you to connect with a more authentic side of the area, away from the busiest tourist circuits.

The location is also convenient for organizing day trips to major art cities. Lucca is reachable in about 20 minutes by car, while Florence and Pisa are approximately 40 minutes away. Pistoia, Montecatini Terme, San Miniato, and many villages in central Tuscany are also easily accessible, while the coast can be reached in about 45 minutes.

Staying in Querce thus allows you to alternate days of complete relaxation in the countryside with cultural excursions, nature trails, and food and wine experiences, taking advantage of a central location to leisurely discover many of the most distinctive aspects of Tuscany.
