Nestled in the woods of Monte Pisano, between the provinces of Pisa and Lucca, B&B Pietra d’Acqua invites guests to enjoy a cozy and tranquil environment where the slow rhythm of nature enhances every moment of their stay. The landscape here is filled with trees, peacefulness, and the gentle flow of the small river in the valley, creating a perfect atmosphere for those seeking relaxation and authenticity. Guests can stroll through the forest, find a secluded spot among the trees, or take a break in front of the fireplace with a good book, breathing in the fresh mountain air of Tuscany.

The house is a typical rural dwelling from the early 20th century, renovated in 2001, originally an ancient ruin that once served as a small sheep barn and a chestnut drying area. Today, it retains the charm of Tuscan tradition, featuring a vintage aesthetic with brocante items, family antique furniture, and carefully selected details. The windows offer views of the chestnut forest and the valley, providing a sense of complete immersion in nature.

Welcoming you is Alessandra, the innkeeper and gluten-free host, who continues a family legacy that began forty years ago when her parents, artisan bakers, purchased this wild valley covered in ivy. After discovering her gluten intolerance, Alessandra transformed her passion for baking into a new hospitality venture, focusing on the preparation of gluten-free and lactose-free desserts and breakfasts designed in collaboration with guests to start the day with flavor and attention to dietary needs.

The B&B features an apartment and two rooms, each characterized by a simple and authentic style in harmony with the surrounding environment.

Sorgente Home is an approximately 55 square meter apartment that evokes the atmosphere of traditional Tuscan homes. The typical kitchen includes an indoor barbecue, a spacious refrigerator, dishware, a kettle, and a coffee machine. A spiral staircase leads from the main floor to a master bedroom with a private bathroom, which is equipped with a shower, bidet, sink, toilet, hairdryer, towels, and organic toiletries. A ladder leads to a loft area with a futon bed measuring 120x190 cm. The apartment also includes a private garden and free Wi-Fi.

Felce is a classic Tuscan-style double room featuring soft shades of pink and green and a window overlooking the chestnut and fern forest. Located on the first floor, it has an area of about 30 square meters and can accommodate an additional single bed. Guests have access to a kettle, a coffee machine, and free Wi-Fi. The private bathroom is located in the hallway and includes a shower, toilet, bidet, sink, hairdryer, towels, and organic toiletries.

Pietra is a bright room with earthy colors, particularly inviting due to the two windows that overlook the surrounding forest. Situated on the first floor, it covers about 20 square meters and features a double bed, free Wi-Fi, a kettle, and a coffee machine. The private bathroom in the room includes a shower, toilet, bidet, sink, hairdryer, towels, and organic toiletries.

The property is located in a small valley crossed by a river, halfway up Monte Serra, about 3 km from the center of the village of Buti. Its location is ideal for nature lovers and outdoor activities: Monte Serra offers trekking trails, rock climbing opportunities, and stunning views. At the same time, the B&B is conveniently situated for visiting some of Tuscany's most enchanting cities, such as Pisa, Lucca, Volterra, and Vinci, and for easy access to Pisa Airport. Here, a vacation becomes an authentic experience, surrounded by woods, tranquility, and tradition.

Hey, I'm Alessandra

Alessandra, a celiac innkeeper and host, welcomes guests to the B&B Pietra d’Acqua with attentive and personalized hospitality. As the daughter of artisan bakers, she grew up in a family deeply rooted in the traditions of bread and baked goods. After discovering her celiac condition, she channeled that passion into a new hospitality venture, focusing on creating gluten-free and lactose-free desserts and breakfasts tailored for her guests. The history of the establishment dates back forty years, when her parents purchased this small valley nestled in the Monte Pisano forest. At that time, the land was overgrown with ivy and brambles, housing only an old ruin, an ancient sheep barn that included a section for processing and drying chestnuts. Over the years, this place evolved into a family home and a welcoming retreat, eventually becoming the B&B it is today. Today, Alessandra continues this project with care and authenticity, hosting those who wish to experience the Tuscan mountains between Pisa and Lucca in an intimate setting, where a connection with nature and attention to dietary needs are integral to the stay.

Area Collina

The B&B Pietra d’Acqua is nestled in the woods of Monte Pisano, situated in a small valley crossed by a river, between the provinces of Pisa and Lucca. This location offers a genuine natural setting, characterized by chestnut groves, trails, and views that showcase the quieter and wilder side of Tuscany. Here, nature takes center stage: the forest surrounding the house is home to wildlife and provides a tranquil environment, perfect for those looking to slow down and experience a stay closely connected to the landscape.

Just a few kilometers away is the village of Buti, accessible via a 3 km road, a small Tuscan town that still retains the charm of hillside villages. Its streets, quaint squares, and stone houses reflect a long agricultural and artisanal tradition, while the surrounding area is dotted with olive groves and forests that define the entire Monte Pisano region.

This area is particularly favored by outdoor enthusiasts. Monte Serra, the highest peak of Monte Pisano, offers numerous trails for trekking and hiking, with paths that weave through chestnut woods and scenic viewpoints that, on clear days, allow for views stretching to the plain and the sea. The region is also popular with rock climbing enthusiasts, thanks to the presence of natural cliffs, as well as those who simply wish to stroll in nature.

The location of the B&B is also strategic for visiting some of the most captivating cities in Tuscany. Pisa is about 26 km away and can be easily reached for a day of exploring the famous Piazza dei Miracoli, home to the Leaning Tower, the Cathedral, and the Baptistery. Lucca is approximately 25 km away and is known for its impressive Renaissance walls that encircle the historic center, which can now be walked or cycled around.

From Pietra d’Acqua, it’s possible to organize excursions to other culturally and scenically significant destinations like Volterra, an ancient Etruscan city rich in history, or Vinci, the birthplace of Leonardo, set amidst the hills of Montalbano.

The area is also convenient for air travelers due to its relative proximity to Pisa International Airport, making it easy to reach the B&B while enjoying a peaceful stay away from the hustle and bustle of city life. This balance between nature, quaint villages, and major art centers makes the Monte Pisano region an ideal base for experiencing Tuscany authentically.
