In the heart of Lunigiana, surrounded by a typical Tuscan landscape of hills, vineyards, and olive groves, Podere La Piana welcomes guests to an authentic and relaxing setting, where breathtaking views of the Apuan Alps and a majestic centuries-old pine create stunning scenery. This family-run farm spans approximately 30 hectares and is the perfect place for families with children and those looking to reconnect with nature.

The property prioritizes sustainability, generating electricity and hot water through photovoltaic and solar panels, and using wood from its own forests for heating. Guests can choose from various accommodation options, each featuring a private outdoor space: the Main House with B&B rooms and spacious common areas; the Olive Apartment with two double bedrooms and a living room with kitchenette; the Cherry Cottage with a beautiful terrace overlooking the ancient pine; and the newly renovated Cedar Apartment with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and an open kitchen.

In the large panoramic garden, there is a saltwater pool suitable for sensitive skin, as well as a synthetic grass tennis court. There is also a barbecue area with a table for 40 people and a multifunctional room for courses or events. Children can help care for the animals, explore the educational farm, and enjoy walks with the donkeys. The farm employs biodynamic farming methods based on the principles of Rudolf Steiner.

Podere La Piana is strategically located for visiting the medieval villages of Lunigiana and, with short drives, renowned destinations such as the Cinque Terre, Lerici, Tellaro, Portovenere, Versilia, Carrara, Lucca, Pisa, Siena, Florence, and Genoa. Pisa Airport is about a 45-minute drive away.

The property is open from April 1 to September 30, accepting guests by reservation only and does not offer dining services. Breakfast, available upon request, features a selection of local products and homemade pastries, with options for those with gluten intolerance. Pets are not allowed.
Rooms and Rates
Breakfast, served in the room with the fireplace or outdoors during the milder months, is a special time designed to start the day with flavor and tranquility. A selection of genuine products is offered: fruit juices, yogurt, local cured meats and cheeses, homemade cakes, artisanal bread, toast, butter, jams, and honey. Espresso and American coffee, cappuccino, and a wide variety of teas are also available. Upon request, specific breakfasts for those with gluten intolerance are prepared with the same care and attention.

Area Campagna

Podere La Piana is located in the lush Lunigiana region, a border area between Tuscany, Liguria, and Emilia-Romagna, which remains authentic and less frequented by mass tourism. The region is dotted with well-preserved medieval villages, castles, Romanesque churches, and trails that wind through forests, vineyards, and scenic hills, providing visitors with a journey through history and nature.

Nearby, one can discover timeless places such as Pontremoli, Fivizzano, Bagnone, and Filetto, ideal for those who enjoy wandering through cobblestone streets and historical architecture. For beach lovers, the Cinque Terre and the Gulf of Poets, featuring charming towns like Lerici, Tellaro, and Portovenere, can be reached in about half an hour by car. Alternatively, one can opt for the golden beaches of Versilia, stretching from Viareggio to Forte dei Marmi and up to Pietrasanta.

Due to its strategic location, it’s easy to plan day trips to some of Italy's most famous art cities, including Pisa, Lucca, Florence, Siena, and Genoa, all accessible within approximately an hour's drive or by train. The area also offers a wealth of opportunities for outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling, horseback riding, and nature trails, in addition to visits to the spectacular marble quarries of Carrara.

The atmosphere of Lunigiana, suspended between mountains and sea, nature and culture, provides a relaxing yet stimulating travel experience, suitable for both families and curious travelers in search of authenticity.
