Villa Liburnia is the result of a thoughtful renovation of the Old Lazaretto in Livorno, transformed into a stylish bed & breakfast set within a 2.5-hectare park, surrounded by woodland and well-maintained lawns. Its prime location offers breathtaking panoramic views: on one side, the gentle Tuscan hills, and on the other, the sea with the Livorno archipelago, extending to Elba, Gorgona, Capraia, and on clear days, even to the Gulf of La Spezia and Corsica.

This establishment, a villa from the early 20th century, is perched on a small promontory overlooking the city, providing an ideal blend of serenity and convenience. Although located in an agricultural area, it lies in the heart of Livorno, just a 10-minute drive from the historic center. Its strategic position allows guests to enjoy the peace of the countryside while remaining close to essential services, shopping centers, tourist attractions, and the stunning coastal areas.

Guests can unwind in the 15 by 7-meter swimming pool, with depths ranging from 1.20 to 2.20 meters, surrounded by a sunbathing area equipped with loungers, sunbeds, hammocks, and umbrellas. Furthermore, the proximity to the "Livorno Sud" bypass, only five minutes away, facilitates easy access to Tuscany’s most famous art cities while avoiding city traffic. The train station is just five minutes away, and the port, with ferries to Sardinia and Corsica, is only a ten-minute drive.
Rooms and Rates
Our continental breakfast features a delightful selection of beverages such as coffee, cappuccino, tea, hot chocolate, barley drink, chamomile, and herbal teas, along with fresh fruit juices. You can enjoy freshly baked brioche, toasted bread spread with honey, jams, or Nutella, as well as seasonal fresh fruit, creamy yogurt, crunchy cereals, cookies, and snacks.

Please note that the buffet is available only during the summer season, from June to early September, along with access to the swimming pool. Therefore, breakfast can only be reserved during this time.

Hey, I'm Ramona

My passion for travel and the exploration of new cultures has always shaped my life journey. After earning my degree in Theology and Philosophy from the University of Manchester and completing a research Master's at UCF in Orlando, I turned my love for exploration into a profession by obtaining an international license as a tour escort and guide for Livorno, Florence, and the surrounding areas. Together with my husband, an experienced sommelier, and my brother, we run Villa Liburnia with the aim of providing authentic hospitality with meticulous attention to detail. We have a love for animals—owning two dogs—and a passion for good food, which enhances the genuineness of our hospitality. Our family is the heart of this residence, and we strive to make every guest feel at home, welcomed with warmth and care, while providing a stay that is both relaxing and unforgettable.

Area Collina

Livorno, the second most populous city in Tuscany after Florence, sits along a coastline that stretches like a long strip by the sea, boasting beaches that have been awarded the Blue Flag. Its coastal landscape is mainly rocky, ideal for those who love the sea yet also want to explore the artistic marvels of the region.

Its strategic location allows for easy access to some of Italy's most famous art cities: Florence, with its invaluable historical heritage, is just 90 km away; Pisa, known for its iconic Leaning Tower, is a mere 20 km distant; while Lucca, surrounded by its well-preserved Renaissance walls, is located 40 km away. Staying in Livorno means enjoying the tranquility of the sea, away from the stress and heat of more crowded destinations, while still being able to immerse oneself in the vibrant atmosphere of nearby cities, perhaps just for a dinner.

In addition to the charm of historic locales, the region offers breathtaking natural scenery: the gentle Tuscan hills, with their vineyards and olive groves, provide unforgettable views and authentic flavors, making each travel experience unique and unparalleled.
