Podere Casenove is situated among the hills of the Upper Tiber Valley, on the border of Umbria and Tuscany, in a prime location for those wishing to immerse themselves in the tranquility of the countryside while remaining close to historic towns and amenities like Sansepolcro and Città di Castello. The farmhouse, renovated with respect for local architectural styles, was once the home of a sharecropper and included a granary, a wood-fired oven, and a tobacco drying room. Today, the property has a distinctive U-shape that encompasses a lovingly maintained garden cared for by the owner.

There are five apartments in total, including one Superior unit, all tastefully furnished and equipped with a kitchen corner, a living room with a sofa bed, a double bedroom, a bathroom with a shower, and an outdoor area with seating. Some apartments are located on the ground floor, while others are on the first floor. Each accommodation enjoys stunning views of the surrounding landscape: on one side, the natural amphitheater of the valley, and on the other, the hill where the medieval village of Citerna stands.

Guests can enjoy two swimming pools, one for adults and one for children, nestled in a spacious green area fitted with sun loungers, umbrellas, and loggias where one can unwind with a book or dine al fresco. A barbecue, mountain bikes, and convenient covered parking further enhance the offerings. Just a few steps away, there is a nature trail along the Sovara River, perfect for walking enthusiasts and birdwatchers, while nearby are cycling routes and a renowned fly-fishing area along the Tiber.

The agriturismo's location is ideal for those who love to explore the art, history, and culture of central Italy: nearby treasures include the Madonna del Parto, the Resurrection of Christ, and the Pala della Misericordia by Piero della Francesca. Citerna itself, recognized among Italy's Most Beautiful Villages, boasts valuable monuments such as the Lombard fortress, the Church of San Michele Arcangelo, and the medieval walkway known as “the lovers' path.”
The region, a crossroads of four areas, offers an extraordinary variety of architectural, linguistic, and culinary influences. Within a short distance, visitors can reach artistic cities like Assisi, Gubbio, Arezzo, Perugia, Urbino, Siena, and Florence, as well as natural attractions such as the Frasassi Caves, Lake Trasimeno, and the Marmore Waterfalls. There are also wellness opportunities with the nearby Terme di Fontecchio, tennis and golf courts, horseback riding, and the sports center in Sansepolcro.

Podere Casenove is lovingly managed by Mrs. Luigina, who warmly welcomes guests and is available to provide information on local restaurants, museums, events, and outdoor activities, or one can enjoy breakfast at an affiliated establishment offering various sweet and savory options. It is an authentic place where history and nature converge to provide a genuine and relaxing stay experience.
Rooms and Rates
Breakfast, which is available upon request at an affiliated establishment, is designed to cater to various tastes and provide a pleasant moment with simple, genuine products. Guests can choose between a sweet breakfast featuring cappuccino, croissant, bread, butter, jam, and orange juice, or a savory breakfast with bread, cold cuts, cheese, fruit, and juice. For those who wish to start their day with a little extra, there is also a sweet and savory combination that includes cappuccino, croissant, bread, cold cuts, cheese, and orange juice. Area Collina

The Agriturismo Podere Casenove is located in the Upper Tiber Valley, one of the most captivating regions in central Italy, straddling the border between Umbria and Tuscany. The property is situated in the municipality of Citerna, recognized as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, perched on a hillside at an elevation of 330 meters above sea level. The surrounding landscape is a harmonious patchwork of cultivated fields, forests, medieval towns, and small streams that meander through the valley, offering breathtaking views in every season.

This valley, named after the Tiber River that flows through it, serves as a cultural and scenic crossroads where Tuscany, Umbria, Marche, and Emilia Romagna converge, creating a rich heritage of historical, artistic, and culinary influences. The proximity to towns such as Sansepolcro, Monterchi, Anghiari, and Città di Castello allows visitors to discover Renaissance masterpieces, including the famous works of Piero della Francesca, without straying too far from the tranquility of the countryside.

Additionally, a short distance away are numerous natural and religious sites: Montedoglio Lake, the natural trail along the Sovara River, the sanctuaries of La Verna and Camaldoli, the Fontecchio thermal baths, Lake Trasimeno, the Frasassi Caves, and the Marmore Waterfalls. For those who appreciate art and history, the location is ideal for day trips to art cities such as Perugia, Assisi, Gubbio, Arezzo, Siena, Florence, Urbino, and even San Marino.

The area is also perfect for those seeking an active experience: with cycling routes, trekking paths, sports centers, equestrian facilities, and golf courses, there are numerous and varied opportunities to engage with the local environment. The Upper Tiber Valley is also a land of authentic flavors, where agricultural traditions are reflected in a genuine cuisine and high-quality local products, such as truffles, extra virgin olive oil, cured meats, cheeses, and wines.

The natural, historical, and cultural context surrounding Podere Casenove makes every stay an opportunity to explore still-authentic and charming places, far from mass tourism yet well-connected to major transportation routes.
