Perched atop a hill facing Gubbio, the Ancient Residence Montereano is a tranquil oasis immersed in nature, surrounded by the pristine landscape of Umbria. Once the cherished home of geologist Guido Bonarelli, who named it and transformed it with respect and passion, it now welcomes guests in an authentic and refined setting, where the elegance of rural architecture blends with modern comfort.

The organic estate produces extra virgin olive oil, legumes, and ancient grains, providing an experience that connects hospitality with the land. The apartments and rooms are located within the 19th-century manor house and an adjacent building, both restored with eco-friendly systems and equipped with a charging station for electric vehicles. The expansive Italian garden, panoramic swimming pool, and views extending to the historic center of Gubbio enhance the overall stay.

Accommodations, designed for intimacy and comfort, range from cozy rooms to spacious apartments with equipped kitchens, private terraces, or furnished outdoor areas. Each unit is meticulously detailed, featuring bright country-style furnishings, eco-friendly air conditioning, Wi-Fi, TV, and bathrooms with showers and bidets. Upon request, guests can enjoy a hearty Italian or international breakfast served in the garden or dedicated dining room, complete with homemade pastries and genuine products.

For nature and sports enthusiasts, the estate serves as an ideal starting point for hiking, horseback riding, or mountain biking. Numerous outdoor activities are available nearby, ranging from golf and horseback riding to rafting and paragliding. The pool, equipped with a children's area, features sun loungers, umbrellas, and hot showers, while the park offers spaces for relaxation, play, or outdoor dining.

The agriturismo also offers cultural and naturalistic paths, with itineraries exploring the history, art, and geology of Umbria, passing through charming villages, artisan workshops, and culinary destinations. Thanks to its proximity to Gubbio, Assisi, Perugia, Spello, and other gems of central Italy, every day can become an opportunity for discovery.

Montereano is not just a charming residence but a place to rejuvenate, rediscover the value of simplicity, and be inspired by the harmonious dialogue between nature, culture, and memory.
Rooms and Rates
Upon request, guests can choose between two delightful breakfast options, which can be enjoyed in the garden or in the designated dining area:
- Italian Breakfast (€12 per person): a selection of pastries, homemade sweets, cookies, fresh bread, toast, jams, honey, seasonal fruit, fruit juice, yogurt, and cereals.

- International Breakfast (€16 per person): this option includes everything offered in the Italian breakfast, along with cold cuts, cheeses, and eggs for a more substantial meal.

Area Collina

The estate is situated in one of the most picturesque areas of Umbria, on the first hill facing Gubbio, a medieval town renowned for being one of the best-preserved in Italy. From this vantage point, one can admire a vast and diverse landscape consisting of rolling hills, forests, olive groves, and farmland cultivated through organic practices, creating an authentic and timeless atmosphere.

Gubbio, located just five kilometers away, is a true architectural and cultural gem. Its stone streets, noble palaces, and the impressive Piazza Grande provide a glimpse into Umbria's history, with evidence dating from the Roman era to the height of the Middle Ages. The town is also famous for its long-standing traditions, such as the Corsa dei Ceri, its local cuisine featuring truffles and mushrooms, and its vibrant craft scene related to ceramics and wrought iron.

In addition to Gubbio, the estate's location makes it easy to reach many other centers of significant historical, artistic, and natural interest. Within less than an hour, one can visit Perugia, Assisi, Spello, Montefalco, Todi, and Lake Trasimeno, while not far beyond lies the Apennine scenery of the Monte Cucco Park, ideal for hiking, adventure sports, and nature observation. Its proximity to the Marche region also allows for exploration of Urbino, the Frasassi Caves, and the Conero Riviera, making the estate a perfect starting point for day trips.

For those who enjoy food and wine tourism, there are plenty of opportunities nearby, with traditional restaurants, wineries, and small producers offering dishes and products rooted in Umbrian peasant traditions, often with surprisingly high quality. The diversity of the surrounding landscape, combined with the tranquility of the estate, makes this area ideal for a stay focused on discovery, relaxation, and deep well-being.
