The area surrounding La Grotta Bed and Breakfast and Holiday Home spans the picturesque landscapes of the Alfina Plateau, a charming hilly region situated at the crossroads of Umbria, Lazio, and Tuscany, rich in natural beauty, history, and traditions. Castel Giorgio, the village where the establishment is located, enjoys a prime position, making it perfect for exploring some of the most iconic destinations in Central Italy, while still offering the tranquility and authenticity of a small village nestled in greenery.

Less than 20 kilometers away lies Orvieto, famous for its stunning Cathedral, the St. Patrick’s Well, and its underground city. Also nearby are Lake Bolsena, ideal for a relaxing day surrounded by nature and crystal-clear waters, and Civita di Bagnoregio, the breathtaking “dying town,” perched on a tuff hill and accessible only on foot.

The region is dotted with charming villages such as Torre Alfina, dominated by an impressive castle, Acquapendente, Montefiascone, and Pitigliano, known as the “little Jerusalem,” with its streets carved into tuff and its history connected to the Jewish community.
