The rooms, thoughtfully designed for comfort and authenticity, include three spacious ground-floor studios, perfect for couples and families of up to five people, as well as an apartment on the first floor that retains the charm of the old residence with two bedrooms, a bathroom, and a kitchen adorned with a collection of vintage items.

During their stay, guests can choose to unwind in the garden, cool off in the pool, or take a stroll to the river for a swim in its clear waters. For adventure enthusiasts, the Valnerina region offers a wide variety of outdoor sports, including rafting, kayaking, caving, mountain biking, hiking, and horseback riding.

As a welcoming gesture, each guest will receive a complimentary sachet of lavender, grown and harvested from our garden, allowing them to take home the scent and memory of this beautiful land. The cost of your stay includes a delightful Mediterranean-inspired breakfast, featuring a selection of: milk, coffee, tea, pastries, cookies, toast, cereals, honey, chocolate, butter, and jam. Guests can find everything they need for breakfast in the kitchenette of the studios and in the shared kitchen on the first floor. This allows guests to help themselves freely and without time constraints, ensuring they start their day in the best possible way!

Hey, I'm Marco

My name is Marco, and I am the founder and manager of the B&B "La Porta della Valnerina." Originally from an ancient town in Campania, I moved to Umbria when I was seven years old. It didn't take long for me to fall in love with this beautiful region, known for its hills dotted with charming medieval villages, lush forests, clear rivers, and enchanting lakes. I have come to appreciate the locals, who may seem a bit reserved but are genuine, as well as the rich and authentic flavors of this land. During my studies, which led me to become an architect, I discovered and admired the vast artistic and cultural heritage found in these valleys, carefully preserved for centuries. Thus, the desire to share my love for this region inspired me to start a hospitality business immersed in nature. In 2005, I embarked on this adventure and began restoring an old farmhouse located along the river, where my family spent peaceful summer weekends. After nine years of hard work, renovating and renting out one room at a time, I patiently cleaned up the surrounding green area, successfully creating this little slice of paradise. I welcome my guests as if they were old friends, sharing the story of my home and guiding them through the park, suggesting the most captivating places to visit. I often accompany them on outdoor adventures such as rafting, climbing, trekking, and canyoning, which are some of the main attractions for visitors to these valleys. Over the years, I have had the pleasure of hosting people from all over, each with their own cultures and stories, always dedicating myself to their well-being. Each encounter leads to the creation of new bonds and memories, and it brings me great joy to know that a small piece of me remains in the hearts of those who visit this place. From this spot, you can reach major tourist cities of Umbria in less than an hour, such as Perugia, Assisi, Orvieto, Spoleto, Cascia, Norcia, and Todi, as well as enchanting destinations in nearby regions, including Rome, Viterbo, Lake Bolsena, Rieti, and Mount Terminillo.

Valnerina is a true paradise for sports enthusiasts and outdoor lovers, offering activities like rafting, kayaking, canoeing, canyoning, mountain biking, caving, hiking, horseback riding, and paragliding. Guests can also unwind in the natural park surrounding the property and, by following a short 200-meter path, reach the crystal-clear waters of the Nera River, where in the summer, a beautiful natural pool invites for a swim.

Just 1 km from the B&B, there is a traditional Umbrian restaurant known for its classic dishes such as ciriole, truffles, and wild boar, with which the establishment has a special arrangement for guests.
