There are places where time shifts its pace, and Podere Pietraluna is precisely one of them: a farmhouse with a panoramic pool nestled in the nature of Alta Umbria, just a few minutes from Città di Castello in the heart of Valtiberina, where Umbria, Tuscany, and Marche touch each other in a perfect encounter. Here, silence is not just a detail but a tangible presence: it accompanies the days, lightens the hours, and transforms every stay into a genuine retreat.

The property rests on a hillside surrounded by greenery and open skies, featuring a large park where one can find space, breath, and harmony. From the panoramic pool, the view stretches far across woods and valleys, and every moment of the day seems designed to slow down: a morning swim, a book in the shade, a sunset that arrives leisurely. The dirt road leading to the farmhouse becomes part of the experience, almost a small entrance ritual that preserves tranquility and distances the noise of the world.

The independent and well-appointed apartments are the perfect choice for those who seek autonomy without sacrificing comfort. Each accommodation comes with a fully equipped kitchen and private outdoor spaces, ideal for enjoying the countryside naturally: a leisurely breakfast, an outdoor lunch, the feeling of having your own corner of peace in the greenery. It is a place that welcomes couples, families, and small groups, as well as those on a journey seeking a true, simple, and rejuvenating stop.

At Podere Pietraluna, there are no imposed schedules or rush: there are walks in nature, starry nights, and common areas dedicated to leisure, such as the barbecue area, relaxation room, ping-pong, and bocce court. While there is no on-site restaurant, a love for good food is inherent: through an agreement with a typical Umbrian restaurant just minutes away, guests can order takeout and enjoy meals comfortably in their garden, with the same freedom that characterizes every day spent here.

The location, in addition to being picturesque, is perfect for exploring a remarkable territory: the masterpieces of Piero della Francesca in Sansepolcro, the alleys of Anghiari, Burri's art in Città di Castello, along with hidden villages, scenic roads, trails, and daily discoveries among Umbria, Tuscany, and Marche. Upon request, experiences such as e-bike tours, cooking classes, and tastings at selected wineries can also be organized, allowing visitors to experience Valtiberina through the eyes of those who truly know it.

Podere Pietraluna is a mindful choice: a secluded agriturismo, away from the more crowded routes, where simplicity becomes quality and time regains its value. It is a place of peace, light, and nature, to be enjoyed without haste, with that rare feeling of finally being in the right spot.

Hey, I'm Elena

Podere Pietraluna is a place born from a life choice. Behind this agritourism nestled in greenery lies a recent and tangible story: since 2025, the former Villa Vaschi has been reborn as Podere Pietraluna, part of the agricultural company ARKA, purchased by two Milanese brothers who decided to change their pace and perspective, choosing Umbria to realize a dream of authenticity and simplicity. Today, the hospitality is managed with care and discretion by Elena, a warm and attentive presence who personally oversees the apartments and takes to heart every detail of the guests' stay. She knows this corner of Valtiberina like her own home and loves to share its value with visitors, suggesting unique itineraries, lesser-known villages, natural trails, and small local experiences to savor slowly. Here, you won’t find impersonal hospitality, but rather a genuine human connection, characterized by true availability and sincere advice. Podere Pietraluna represents a fresh start: a sanctuary of peace and light, shared with those seeking silence, nature, and a hospitality that is simple, authentic, and present at the right moment.

Area Collina

Staying at Podere Pietraluna means immersing yourself in the heart of one of the most authentic and surprising regions of Central Italy: Valtiberina, a border area where Umbria, Tuscany, and Marche naturally converge. This region remains far from mass tourism, characterized by gentle hills, extensive forests, scenic roads, and quaint stone villages that seem to have stayed true to their ancient rhythms. Here, each day can offer something different: cultural, natural, gastronomic, sporting, or simply dedicated to the beauty of a landscape that encourages you to slow down.

Just a few minutes from the estate is Città di Castello, an elegant and vibrant town perfect for a stroll among Renaissance buildings, harmonious squares, and artisan shops. It is also the birthplace of Alberto Burri, one of the most significant artists of the 20th century: visiting the Burri Collection and the former Tobacco Drying Rooms is a surprising experience that combines contemporary art with industrial heritage in a truly unique setting. A bit further along, Sansepolcro tells the grand story of the Renaissance: here you can find works related to Piero della Francesca and a historic center rich in charm, ideal for leisurely exploration among beautiful views, museums, and cozy local eateries.

Another must-see destination is Anghiari, one of Italy's most beautiful villages, perched on a hill with narrow alleys, flower-adorned balconies, and breathtaking views of the valley. It's the perfect place to wander among shops, small artisan workshops, and medieval atmospheres. And if you love lesser-known villages, you’re in the right place: Citerna, Monterchi, San Giustino, and Santa Maria Tiberina are small, hidden gems perfect for an afternoon filled with history, tranquility, and stunning vistas.

This part of Umbria is also a true expanse of nature, vast and breathable. The surrounding woods offer trails for simple walks or longer hikes, ideal for those wishing to cycle on e-bikes through backroads, olive groves, and cultivated fields. The landscapes are constantly changing: gentle slopes, open valleys, viewpoints from which you can see three regions at a glance. In summer, the air remains cooler than in the plains, and the evenings often bring clear, starry nights—a rare pleasure for city dwellers.

For water lovers and outdoor enthusiasts, the area is full of opportunities: rivers, natural areas, and paths along the Tiber provide perfect settings for strolls and small excursions. Nearby, you can also find parks and reserves where you can experience nature in a more adventurous way, with equipped trails and spaces for outdoor activities. For motor and sports enthusiasts, there is a motocross track in the green surroundings, a hub for motocross practitioners.

Valtiberina is also a region of genuine flavors. Here, the cuisine is not designed for tourists; it is true tradition, made with simple ingredients and distinct flavors. It’s easy to find small trattorias, agriturismos, and local restaurants where you can savor homemade pasta, grilled meats, mushrooms, truffles, legumes, and local extra virgin olive oil. And for wine lovers, tastings at selected wineries provide a pleasant and relaxed experience, often enriched by the direct stories of the producers.

Finally, what truly makes this area special is its atmosphere: a rare balance of beauty, tranquility, and diversity. In just a few kilometers, you can move from a medieval village to a contemporary art museum, from a scenic route through forests to a Renaissance square, from a wine tasting at a vineyard to a peaceful walk among the hills. It’s a territory that doesn’t impose itself but reveals itself gradually, and for this reason, it leaves a lasting impression.

Valtiberina is perfect for those seeking genuine experiences, away from crowds and hustle. A place where every outing is a discovery, and every return in the evening carries the taste of peace.
