Arabba is situated in the heart of the Dolomites at an elevation of 1,612 meters, strategically located between the Pordoi Pass and the Campolongo Pass, on the border of Veneto and South Tyrol. This quaint and tranquil mountain village retains the authentic spirit of the Alps and serves as a prime destination for those seeking nature, sports, and tradition within a landscape of extraordinary beauty.
The area is an integral part of the Dolomiti Superski region, one of the largest ski areas in the world, providing direct access to the renowned Sellaronda ski circuit, which encircles the Sella massif and connects various Ladin valleys. The slopes are well-maintained and diverse, catering to both experienced skiers and families with children, while the high altitude and favorable exposure ensure ample snow throughout the season. The region also hosts the fascinating “Giro della Grande Guerra,” a skiing tour that passes through significant sites of World War I, featuring some of the most breathtaking peaks of the Dolomites.
In the summer, Arabba transforms into a paradise for hikers, climbers, cyclists, and motorcyclists. Trails wind through coniferous forests, blooming meadows, and steep summits, offering stunning views and easy access to huts, alpine dairies, and viewpoints. Many paths lead to iconic peaks such as Boè, Sassongher, Col di Lana, and Lagazuoi, also allowing visitors to explore trenches, tunnels, and military positions from World War I.
For cycling enthusiasts, the area is a top destination: both road cyclists and motorcyclists can tackle the legendary Dolomite passes — Pordoi, Gardena, Sella, Falzarego, Giau — which are traversed every year during the Giro d’Italia and events like the Maratona dles Dolomites or the Dolomites Bike Day. Mountain biking fans will also find exciting and scenic trails, such as those linked to the Hero, one of the toughest MTB marathons in the world.
Arabba also maintains a serene and welcoming atmosphere: the village provides essential services in an intimate setting, free from excessive urbanization or crowds. It is an ideal place for those who wish to immerse themselves in nature, breathe fresh air, and enjoy an unspoiled landscape recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
