Nestled in the quiet and genuine beauty of eastern Lessinia, the vacation home Il Sanco is situated at an altitude of approximately 940 meters, near San Bartolomeo delle Montagne, in the municipality of Selva di Progno, in the province of Verona. Surrounded by pastures and forests, in a territory that remains unspoiled and rich in traditions, it serves as an ideal retreat for those looking to slow down and experience the mountains in an authentic way, just a few kilometers from the city.

The hamlet consists of a single residential unit that has undergone careful restoration to preserve its historical and architectural value, utilizing eco-friendly materials and techniques. The original core, dating back to the 17th century, includes the old dwelling and a barn with a hayloft, which was rebuilt after a fire during World War II. A valuable 17th-century votive tablet depicting the Madonna with Child, Saint Roch, and Saint Sebastian can still be seen on the exterior façade, reflecting the local popular devotion.

The area currently designated for hospitality was expanded between the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The property welcomes guests in three bright, smoke-free rooms, each equipped with a private bathroom, free Wi-Fi, bed linens, and towel sets available for a fee. The rooms are furnished simply and functionally, providing intimate and quiet spaces perfect for relaxation.

Common areas include a fully equipped shared kitchen where guests can prepare their own meals or enjoy breakfast, with coffee, tea, and herbal teas available. Upon request and with prior notice, a breakfast featuring local and primarily organic products is served. On the upper floor, there is an inviting relaxation room with large windows overlooking the forest, designed for moments of reading, music, and tranquility, while the porch and patio outside offer ideal spots to unwind in nature.

Guests also have access to a washing machine, available for a fee. The location of the property allows easy access to numerous hiking trails, including scenic paths, historic hamlets, and nature routes of varying difficulty. Nearby Bolca is renowned for its extraordinary fossil site and the museum dedicated to it.

Il Sanco is a place where history, nature, and hospitality converge, providing an authentic experience in the heart of Lessinia.
