Founded in the mid-1980s by the dream of Glory and Pepe, and now passionately continued by Piero, Sandra, Laura, and Barbara, Les Ecureuils is one of the first agritourisms in the Aosta Valley, closely integrated from the beginning with the family farming business. Nestled at an altitude of 1500 meters in the municipality of Saint-Pierre, it enjoys a peaceful yet strategic location, just thirty minutes from Aosta and less than an hour from the valleys of Gran Paradiso National Park and Courmayeur.

The establishment features five warm and inviting rooms, each equipped with a private bathroom, independent heating, free Wi-Fi, hairdryer, linens, and courtesy toiletries. Three of the rooms offer a panoramic balcony, perfect for enjoying views of the mountains and valleys of the park. For families, a convenient baby set is available, complete with a crib, changing table, bath, and bed guard.

Every morning, a generous breakfast is served, showcasing the local area through authentic flavors: homemade pastries, jams, honey, bread, local butter, fruit, cured meats, cheeses, yogurt, and milk sourced directly from the farm or nearby agricultural enterprises.

The agritourism also serves as a Campagna Amica sales point, offering its own production of goat cheeses, yogurt, cured meats, eggs, and meat. The business, primarily focused on animal husbandry, raises Saanen goats, pigs, and poultry. The products are utilized in the kitchen, sold on-site, and distributed to markets, fairs, restaurants, and stores throughout the region.

This area is perfect for hiking and trekking enthusiasts: Mont Fallère with its refuge, as well as the villages of Vetan, Vens, and Saint-Nicolas, can all be reached on foot via scenic trails. Les Ecureuils is also located along stage 12 of the Cammino Balteo, making it an ideal stop for those traversing this captivating hiking route.

Breakfast, exclusively for the guests of the rooms, is a special occasion that showcases the authenticity and quality of the farm. The agriturismo is directly run by the family that established it: Piero takes care of the animals and the sale of farm products, Sandra is in charge of cheese-making, while Laura and Barbara manage the guests' reception. This family management ensures an authentic and attentive atmosphere, where every detail reflects a passion for the land, hospitality, and the promotion of local traditions.

Area Campagna

The area where Les Ecureuils is located, in Saint-Pierre at an altitude of 1500 meters, offers a perfect balance between alpine tranquility and accessibility. Despite its high location, the surroundings are well-connected: it takes just thirty minutes by car to reach Aosta, and in less than an hour you can arrive at the famous valleys of the Gran Paradiso National Park and Courmayeur, at the foot of Mont Blanc. This makes it an ideal base for those who wish to explore the natural beauty of the Upper Valley as well as for those heading towards the Middle Valley.

The landscape surrounding the agriturismo is characteristic of the Aosta Valley Alps: forests, pastures, majestic peaks, and small stone villages scattered across the slopes. There are numerous hiking opportunities suitable for various levels of experience. Among the most popular destinations is Mont Fallère, a panoramic peak at 3061 meters, which can be reached on foot from the agriturismo, with a stop at the Fallère Refuge at 2385 meters. The nearby villages of Vetan, Vens, and Saint-Nicolas are also easily accessible on foot, with trails that pass through picturesque and serene landscapes.

Les Ecureuils is also situated along stage number 12 of the Cammino Balteo, a circular hiking route that traverses charming villages, castles, vineyards, and captivating natural settings, offering spectacular views of the valley with every step.

The air is pure, the silence is only broken by the sounds of nature, and the view stretches freely over the valleys of the Gran Paradiso Park. It is an ideal place to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with the authentic mountains.
