La Stornara is an ancient farmhouse in Puglia from the 1940s, once dedicated to the production and drying of tobacco leaves. Today, it welcomes guests in beautifully renovated apartments that retain the enchanting rural charm of tradition. The distinctive stone cross vaults, original fireplaces, and furnishings in the rustic style create an authentic and relaxing atmosphere, where every detail has been thoughtfully attended to for a comfortable and memorable stay.

The property is set within a lush garden, shaded by ancient pines and surrounded by orange groves, olive trees, and vineyards. Guests can take advantage of an organic garden and a small chicken coop, as well as enjoy spacious outdoor areas with barbecues and private patios for relaxation or dining under the stars. Each apartment is equipped with a fully stocked kitchen, Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and private outdoor spaces. A shared laundry facility is also available.

A highlight of the estate is the exclusive access to a beautiful beach within a nature reserve, easily reachable within a few minutes by car. This unspoiled and peaceful spot is away from the hustle and bustle, where even furry friends are welcome. For their comfort, a cozy cushion and the freedom to run on the sand are provided.

The location is strategic for visiting charming places such as the Sassi of Matera, Alberobello, Craco, the Pollino National Park, Grottaglie, and Martina Franca. Guests at La Stornara can also enjoy discounts on selected experiences: horseback riding in the Pineta Regina, boat trips with aperitifs at the Dolphin Sanctuary, and guided tours of UNESCO World Heritage sites.

Included in the stay are linens, personal hygiene products, cleaning supplies, sanitization of the premises, breakfast, and a bottle of locally produced extra virgin olive oil. A personalized guide with the best recommendations for restaurants, excursions, and activities in the area is also provided.

La Stornara is an ideal retreat for those looking to rejuvenate in the tranquility of nature, rediscovering slow and authentic rhythms. It is a place where every detail tells a story, and every stay leaves a lasting memory.
Rooms and Rates
At Stornara, breakfast is designed to provide you with freedom and comfort from the moment you wake up. In the kitchen of your apartment, you will find everything you need to prepare it at your convenience, without any set times or restrictions, allowing you to enjoy it leisurely, even outdoors in the designated garden area.

We offer an Italian-style breakfast featuring milk, coffee (one capsule per person per day, with a moka pot always available), tea, plain yogurt, muesli, artisanal cookies from a local bakery, toast, fruit juices, butter, mini jam packets, single-serve Nutella, and bottled natural water.

The kitchen is fully equipped and includes a bottle of our extra virgin olive oil. If you wish to take some with you, we can prepare milk in 3 or 5-liter quantities, available upon request with at least one day’s notice.

To provide you with an even more tailored experience and to minimize waste, we encourage you to inform us in advance of any food intolerances or dietary preferences.

Hey, I'm Roberto

At Stornara, hospitality is a family affair. For years, we have passionately cultivated our land, producing wine and extra virgin olive oil, and we welcome our guests as if they were long-time friends. Our aim is to provide an authentic experience filled with warmth, tranquility, and a direct connection to nature. We believe in genuine hospitality, characterized by small gestures and sincere attentiveness that allow our visitors to truly feel at home. Perhaps this is why over 80% of our guests choose to return, turning a simple vacation into a lasting bond that renews over time.

Area Mare

La Stornara is situated in an area of genuine charm, nestled in the heart of the Taranto region of Magna Graecia, where history, nature, and tradition merge into a landscape that remains unspoiled and less traveled by mass tourism. Surrounded by orange groves, olive orchards, and vineyards, the farmhouse enjoys a secluded yet strategic location, making it ideal for those who wish to alternate between moments of pure relaxation and days of exploration.

Just 5 km away lies the beach of the Marina di Ginosa Nature Reserve, an unspoiled stretch of coastline that is spacious and tranquil, perfect for those seeking clear waters, light sand, and peace even during the busiest months. The beach is pet-friendly, easily accessible via a short drive along a quiet country road, and is framed by a lush pine forest where one can take refuge during the hottest hours.

From this location, unforgettable excursions can be organized to discover unique places such as the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Sassi di Matera, the suspended village of Craco, the white towns of Martina Franca and Alberobello, the Ionian coast of Metaponto, and the ravines of Laterza and Massafra. Even the more famous destinations in Puglia and Basilicata, such as Taranto, Lecce, Grottaglie, or the Pollino National Park, are easily reachable, making La Stornara an excellent base for exploring two regions rich in beauty and history.

This land also offers much to wine and food enthusiasts, with wineries, olive oil mills, farmhouses, and small traditional restaurants where one can rediscover authentic flavors and recipes from the farming tradition. It is an authentic and welcoming setting, where nature still takes center stage and time seems to flow more slowly.
