In the heart of Salento, amidst ancient olive groves and Mediterranean scents, the cottage is located in San Vito dei Normanni, strategically positioned to explore some of Puglia's most captivating destinations. Just a few minutes' drive away lies Torre Guaceto, a protected marine area and nature reserve featuring expansive stretches of golden sand and crystal-clear waters. Beach lovers will also appreciate the nearby shores of Apani, Specchiolla, and Santa Sabina, perfect for relaxing days and refreshing swims.

The village of San Vito dei Normanni, with its medieval historic center, offers an authentic atmosphere filled with quiet squares, ancient churches, and local markets where one can discover regional flavors such as cheeses, olives, and fresh pasta. Not far away, Ostuni captivates with the whiteness of its houses and stunning sea views, while Brindisi, with its natural harbor, provides historic glimpses and quick connections to other destinations.

For fans of charming towns, nearby locations such as Cisternino, Locorotondo, and Martina Franca each boast a distinct identity, characterized by baroque architecture, cobblestone streets, and culinary traditions. Alberobello, known for its UNESCO-listed trulli, is a must-visit, as are the Castellana Caves and the picturesque Polignano a Mare, perched on cliffs.

The central location also allows for easy access to Lecce, a baroque city with unique charm, and Taranto, featuring its gulf and a historic center overlooking two seas. Hey, I'm Francesco

Francesco, known as Franco to his friends, is the owner of the cottage and personally welcomes guests with warmth and discretion. After a long career in the Air Force, he opted to live in the countryside, away from the noise of the city, in a setting he describes as his "timeless abode." The house has been in his family for four generations and has been thoughtfully renovated to provide modern comforts while preserving its original charm. A nature enthusiast who enjoys meeting new people, he loves connecting with individuals from all around the world and fostering an atmosphere of familiarity and inclusion, welcoming guests of every ethnicity, faith, gender, and orientation.

Area Campagna

The cottage is situated in the countryside of San Vito dei Normanni, in a prime location that allows for an authentic experience of Puglia, away from the crowds yet close to the sea, nature, and culture. Just a short drive away lies the Torre Guaceto nature reserve, an internationally recognized marine protected area, known for its expansive sandy beaches, crystal-clear waters, and trails surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation.

The surrounding area is dotted with charming villages and artistic towns. Ostuni, the "White City," captivates visitors with its maze of whitewashed alleys and stunning sea views, while Cisternino and Locorotondo, part of the most beautiful villages in Italy, offer quaint squares, flower-adorned balconies, and taverns where you can savor traditional dishes. Martina Franca enchants with its baroque elegance and the famous music festival of the Valle d'Itria.

Less than an hour's drive away is Alberobello, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its iconic trulli, and Fasano, famous for its Zoo Safari and the archaeological area of Egnazia. Beach lovers can also explore the shores of Apani, Specchiolla, and Santa Sabina, perfect for alternating relaxing days with excursions.

History and art enthusiasts can visit Brindisi, with its natural harbor overlooking the Adriatic and rich archaeological heritage, or Lecce, often called the "Florence of the South" for its extraordinary wealth of baroque churches and palaces. Taranto, the city of two seas, houses unique artifacts in MArTA, one of Italy's most important archaeological museums.

The region is vibrant year-round, thanks to weekly markets, patron saint festivals, culinary events, and cultural activities. Amidst ancient olive trees, turquoise seas, and unspoiled towns, this corner of Puglia offers a perfect balance of relaxation, authenticity, and opportunities for exploration.
