Hey, I'm Nicola

I am originally from Lucera, a town that has been a part of my life for generations. Despite its many flaws, Lucera possesses a charm that captivates me: its historic center, its distinctive neighborhoods, the beautiful churches, the traditional dishes, and the incredible Cacc'e Mmitte, along with the Neapolitan roots of its dialect, its spirituality, and its ancient history, which makes it even older than Rome. My passion for travel is a constant in my life. I usually take charge of planning my vacations, favoring road adventures (the mode of transport is secondary), which allow me to explore the most authentic aspects of the places I visit. Every time I return home, I feel that a part of me has grown – I may sound repetitive, but that’s the truth. The idea of starting a hospitality business came to me while I was running a communication agency in the tourism sector. Le Nicchie Guest House is situated on a gentle hill that offers a lovely view of the Dauni Mountains and the Gargano, in an area known for its agricultural traditions. Not too long ago, there was a small family vineyard here where I would go as a child with my grandfather to pick almonds, apricots, and figs from the fruit trees that grew among the neatly arranged rows. Le Nicchie Guest House is exactly that: a journey into the heart of my land and my history!

Area Campagna

The area where Le Nicchie Guest House is located is one of the most peaceful and scenic spots in Lucera, situated in a residential neighborhood just outside the historic center. This location allows for a blend of privacy and the tranquility of the countryside with the convenience of having all the services and attractions of the city within easy reach. In fact, it takes only a few minutes by car to reach the elegant streets of the center, lively with cafes, artisan shops, and significant historical monuments.

Lucera is regarded as one of the most captivating art centers in Northern Puglia. Among its treasures are the majestic Swabian-Angioinian Fortress, the Roman Amphitheater, one of the largest in Southern Italy, the Gothic Cathedral of the Assumption, and the Urban Archaeology Museum, which houses artifacts that reflect the ancient splendor of the city. Strolling through the alleys of the center is like taking a journey through different eras, accompanied by picturesque views and authentic atmospheres.

From a naturalistic and landscape perspective, Le Nicchie Guest House offers a view of a gentle, rolling panorama, where the gaze extends from the Lucera countryside to the foothills of the Dauni Mountains, one of the most verdant and unspoiled inland areas of Puglia, dotted with small villages, five of which are recognized as among the most beautiful in Italy. On the other side, in just under an hour by car, one can reach the beaches of Gargano and significant religious tourism sites such as San Giovanni Rotondo and Monte Sant’Angelo.

The proximity to the SS17 makes the property easily accessible and well-connected to the main routes of the region, ensuring quick travel to Foggia, Campobasso, San Severo, and numerous tourist destinations in the area. It is a strategic location that offers the best of two worlds: the tranquility of nature and the cultural wealth of an art city.
