Just a few kilometers from the beaches of the Ionian coast and nestled in the countryside of Lizzano, Masseria Macchiarola welcomes its guests with an authentic atmosphere where the tranquility of nature meets the charm of winemaking tradition. Surrounded by vineyards and olive trees, this establishment is housed in an old family farmhouse that has been carefully renovated to provide a comfortable and inspiring stay.

The six independent living units each come with a private bathroom, air conditioning, TV, Wi-Fi, a mini-fridge, and an outdoor area equipped with a patio or private terrace, ideal for enjoying breakfast outdoors with homemade pastries, freshly baked focaccia, and fresh fruit. Some rooms even feature a practical kitchenette. Every detail is designed to ensure privacy and tranquility in an intimate and familial setting.

The panoramic swimming pool, reserved for guests and available from late May, is the heart of the masseria, perfect for relaxing during the hottest hours. The spacious common areas with shaded zones and relaxation spots allow guests to share enjoyable moments outdoors as well. There is also the opportunity to participate in tastings of natural wines and book dinners featuring traditional dishes made from garden produce and local ingredients.

This family-run business is an integral part of Cantina Macchiarola, currently managed by Domenico Mangione, husband of Annamaria De Vita. The masseria reflects the passion of the De Vita family, who have cherished this corner of Puglia for generations, making it more welcoming each year. Recently, an old winery has also been restored, serving as a living testament to the area's winemaking history.

Its strategic location, about 1 km from the town center and just 5 km from the beaches, allows guests to alternate between days at the sea and in nature. Upon request, guests can also book beach umbrellas at local establishments. Packed lunch baskets and customized breakfasts to accommodate specific dietary needs, including gluten-free options, are available for guests.

Masseria Macchiarola is the perfect place for those seeking an authentic Puglian experience filled with flavors, silence, and views that feel like home.

Hey, I'm Annamaria

Masseria Macchiarola is run with passion and commitment by the De Vita family, who have been welcoming guests with the warm hospitality typical of Puglia for many years. Giancarlo, Annamaria, and Marica carry on the vision that their parents, Nicolina and Franco, had over fifty years ago when they chose this countryside spot for family vacations. Today, with the same spirit, the De Vita siblings continue to take care of the farmhouse, providing genuine, attentive, and always available hospitality.

Area Campagna

Masseria Macchiarola is situated in the heart of the Lizzano countryside, in the Taranto province, just a few kilometers from the charming beaches of the Ionian coast. This stretch of Puglia's coastline is famous for its clear waters and expansive sandy shores, dotted with natural dunes and areas of Mediterranean scrub. The nearest beaches, such as those in Marina di Lizzano, are easily accessible within a short drive and offer both equipped facilities and free areas, perfect for those seeking relaxation and nature.

The inland region is characterized by gentle hills covered with vineyards, olive groves, and cultivated fields, creating a harmonious and still authentic landscape. Lizzano is an agricultural and winemaking town, recognized for its production of high-quality wines, particularly Primitivo, and for its simple yet flavorful cuisine rooted in farming traditions. The historic center still features picturesque views, ancient churches, and quiet corners where time seems to flow more slowly.

The location of the masseria also allows for easy exploration of other places in the Ionian Salento and the Valle d’Itria. In less than an hour, one can reach Taranto with its rich archaeological heritage, Grottaglie with its artisan ceramic shops, Manduria with its Archaeological Park and the Museum of Primitivo Wine Civilization, or the white-washed villages of Martina Franca and Ceglie Messapica. Nearby, the Natural Reserves of the Eastern Taranto Coast offer trails through dunes, pine forests, and bodies of water.

This area is ideal for those who want to alternate beach days with cultural itineraries, nature excursions, winery visits, and moments of tranquility amidst the scents of the countryside. It is a generous region, still largely untouched by mass tourism, offering authentic experiences in every season.
