Nestled on the initial hills overlooking Faenza, La Sabbiona welcomes guests into a historic rural residence set against a backdrop that opens up to the Romagna plains. The accommodations, which include both rooms and apartments, provide a comfortable and authentic stay, featuring country-style furnishings and antique pieces, all complemented by modern amenities such as private bathrooms, air conditioning, TV, and Wi-Fi. The property offers three double rooms, one triple room with accessible bathroom, one quadruple room, two two-room apartments, two studios, and a spacious three-room apartment, along with a panoramic apartment in a nearby private villa.

The kitchen serves as the heart of the experience: every day, traditional Romagna dishes are served, prepared with local ingredients like spelt and Romagna shallots, paired with wines produced in the family winery, where indigenous grapes such as Centesimino and Famoso are vinified. Tastings and winery tours allow guests to discover the region's flavors, while cooking classes help preserve and pass down old recipes.

Guests can enjoy a swimming pool with a view, a hot tub in the vineyard, electric mountain bikes, a volleyball court, a children's play area, and expansive green spaces. During the summer months, breakfast and dinner are served on the veranda with views over the plains; the restaurant offers typical dishes every evening, except Tuesdays, which are dedicated to the "Wine and Pizza" night by the pool. On weekends, lunch is also available, while a simpler menu is offered on weekdays. In winter, the restaurant operates from Friday evening to Sunday lunch.

The history of the estate, documented since the 17th century, is intertwined with the story of the Altini family, who have preserved a farming culture passed down through generations. Since 1993, the agriturismo has been passionately managed by Serena, Sebastiano, and their sons Mauro and Marco, who have successfully blended tradition and innovation to provide genuine and attentive hospitality.

Thanks to its location, La Sabbiona is also an excellent starting point for visiting Faenza, Ravenna, Bologna, Ferrara, Florence, San Marino, and the charming medieval villages of the hinterland. Nature lovers can explore the two natural parks surrounding the property for hiking or simply to enjoy a 360-degree view. Forlì Airport is just 15 km away.
Rooms and Rates
Breakfast is offered every morning from 7:30 to 10:00 in the dining room or, during pleasant weather, on the terrace overlooking the plains and vineyards. Guests can kick off their day with a wide variety of authentic products: homemade jams and cakes, bread, toast, cookies, cereals, yogurt, fresh fruit, juices, cured meats, cheeses, and eggs, providing a delicious and genuinely Romagnolo experience.
The restaurant at the agriturismo is open every evening during the summer, except on Tuesdays when the informal "Wine and Pizza" night is held by the pool. On Saturdays and Sundays, guests can enjoy lunch and dinner featuring a traditional menu, while from Monday to Friday, a lighter lunch option is available, including salads, platters, piadinas, and pasta dishes. In the winter, the restaurant operates from Friday evening to Sunday lunch, and on weekdays, it is only open for groups with prior reservations. The dishes are made with local and seasonal ingredients, featuring homemade pasta, regional cured meats, and cheeses, all paired with the estate's wines.

Hey, I'm Serena

The agriturismo La Sabbiona is run with dedication by the Altini family, who have always had a deep connection to the land and farming traditions. Serena and Sebastiano, along with their son Mauro, form the heart of the establishment, while the youngest, Marco, brings his IT skills to the team. The combination of experience, passion, and a spirit of innovation creates a genuine, warm hospitality that pays attention to every detail.

Area Collina

La Sabbiona is situated in an excellent location, nestled among the gentle hills surrounding Faenza, in the heart of Romagna. This corner of the countryside, still genuine and unspoiled, offers glimpses of rare beauty, with views stretching from the medieval Torre di Oriolo to the plains of Ravenna, dotted with lights on clear evenings. On particularly clear days, the silhouettes of the skyscrapers in Cesenatico and Milano Marittima can even be seen on the horizon.

This area is ideal for those seeking peace, nature, and a direct connection with the land, as well as for those wishing to explore the cultural and artistic treasures of Emilia-Romagna. Just 7 km away is Faenza, renowned for its International Museum of Ceramics and a historic center rich in elegance and local life. In less than an hour, one can reach Ravenna with its extraordinary UNESCO heritage mosaics, Bologna with its porticos and vibrant university atmosphere, Ferrara with its Renaissance ambiance, Florence for a day trip, San Marino, Imola, and the Adriatic coast with Cervia, known for its salt museum and the amusement park Mirabilandia.

The surrounding area is crisscrossed with numerous routes through medieval villages, churches, wineries, and natural parks. Brisighella, with its unspoiled charm, cobblestone streets, and famous Via degli Asini, is one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. Dozza, featuring its open-air mural museum, and Bertinoro, known as “the balcony of Romagna,” provide authentic experiences and breathtaking views.

The region is traversed by trails and cycling paths that wind through vineyards, cultivated fields, and small woodlands, making it perfect for those who enjoy walking or biking in lush greenery. The two natural parks surrounding the property allow visitors to experience nature in every season, breathing clean air and enjoying the tranquility typical of rural areas that remain largely untouched by mass tourism.

In this setting, staying at La Sabbiona becomes a crossroads of relaxation, culture, food and wine, and a slow discovery of a generous and authentic territory.
