The area where the Chalet in the Magic Forest is located is one of the most enchanting in the Piacenza Hills, a region that combines gentle, harmonious landscapes with a rich cultural, artistic, and culinary heritage. We are just a stone's throw from Castell’Arquato, a perfectly preserved medieval village perched on a hill and dominated by the Visconti fortress, where every corner tells centuries of history and offers picturesque views of stone, arches, and towers.
Surrounding us are small gems like Vigoleno, which is also listed among the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy, featuring its intact castle and walls, along with charming locations such as Fontanellato and Soragna, renowned for their Renaissance fortresses, frescoes, and historic buildings. Just a few kilometers away is Sant’Agata, where visitors can explore the birthplace of Giuseppe Verdi, nestled in the countryside and still infused with the atmosphere that inspired the composer.
The landscape is dotted with vineyards, olive groves, and woods, making it ideal for those who enjoy nature walks, cycling excursions, or simply taking in the scenery. There are plenty of opportunities to discover local flavors: fine wines like Gutturnio and Ortrugo, PDO cured meats, typical cheeses, and traditional Emilia dishes to savor in the many taverns and agriturismos in the area.
The hill on which the chalet stands is peaceful and surrounded by greenery, offering panoramic views that change with the seasons. Here, time slows down, and every moment invites exploration or relaxation. It is the perfect destination for those seeking authenticity, beauty, and tranquility just a short distance from the cities, yet light-years away from their hustle and bustle.
