After a lifetime devoted to teaching in elementary school, retirement has granted me the time to fulfill a desire: to bring the world into my home. Thus, the bed and breakfast La Corte delle Civette was born, a project that started playfully in 2011, with the support of friends who encouraged me to transform my childhood home into a place of hospitality and gathering. The name of the establishment was not chosen randomly. The owls indeed live here, nesting in the large walnut tree, and like the goddess Athena, they symbolize wisdom and fortune for me. This farmhouse holds the memories of my childhood and is the place where the seasons unfold in their natural rhythm. There is no need for calendars to know when spring arrives; the return of the swallows and the chirping of the birds joyfully announce it. Here, tranquility reigns, shared with my inseparable companions: Maya, my sweet dog, and the cats Tigro and Nerina, always ready to purr for anyone who approaches with a gentle touch. Welcoming guests in this corner of serenity is a pleasure for me, a way to create new connections and make every traveler feel at home.

Area Campagna

The Court of Owls is situated in a strategic location, surrounded by the tranquility of the countryside yet just a short distance from significant towns such as Modena, Carpi, and Soliera. This allows for a relaxing stay with the opportunity to explore an area rich in history, culture, and events.

Soliera boasts a charming historic center, highlighted by the Rocca, a fortified structure that dates back to at least 1153. Built by the Estensi in the late 13th century and later expanded in the 14th and 15th centuries, it became a marquisate under Pietro Campori in 1636. Even today, it retains the distinctive features of medieval architecture, reflecting its noble and strategic past.

In the countryside surrounding Soliera lies La Chianina di Modena, a historic farm dedicated to raising the renowned Chianina cattle, known for their high-quality, lean, and low-cholesterol meat. For animal lovers, just a few kilometers from Carpi is Dog City, a center specializing in dog training, offering activities such as agility courses, sheepdog trials, and a pool for four-legged companions.

ModenaFiere serves as a hub for nationally significant events and exhibitions, featuring a full schedule of fairs and conferences. Its proximity to the bed and breakfast makes it easily accessible within minutes.

For music enthusiasts and live events, Campo Volo in Reggio Emilia is one of Italy's most famous venues, having hosted memorable concerts, including those by Ligabue. It is an iconic space for lovers of live music and large-scale events.

Lastly, for those who appreciate culture, the Philosophy Festival takes place every September, involving Modena, Carpi, and Sassuolo. This highly anticipated event transforms these cities into a stage for ideas, debates, and meetings with some of the most prominent contemporary thinkers.
