In the heart of the charming medieval village of Torrechiara, nestled within the ancient walls of a well-preserved 15th-century castle, stands the Locanda del Borgo, a haven of tranquility and authenticity that combines hospitality, history, and traditional flavors. The establishment welcomes guests to elegantly furnished rooms, all equipped with private bathrooms, air conditioning, satellite TV, and complimentary Wi-Fi. Each morning, breakfast is served either in the indoor dining area or outdoors with a view of the castle, featuring a rich buffet that includes artisanal cakes, freshly baked pastries, and local delicacies like DOP Parma ham and zero-kilometer Parmigiano Reggiano.

The inn is also the perfect starting point for exploring the Colli di Parma, thanks to its "Bed & Bike" program, which provides access to electric bicycles for excursions through nature, villages, and the culinary delights of the Food Valley. To enhance the experience, the Bottega del Borgo offers a carefully curated selection of cured meats, cheeses, and typical products to enjoy on-site or take home as a genuine souvenir of the region.

At the helm of the establishment is Walter, who, after a long career in the sports and hospitality sectors, decided to invest in promoting his local area alongside partner Gigetto Furlotti. Today, with passion and expertise, they welcome travelers from around the world, providing a stay that is much more than just a night away from home: it is an immersion in the atmospheres, aromas, and flavors of one of Italy's most enchanting regions.

Local delights are also included, such as DOP Parma Ham and locally sourced Parmigiano Reggiano. Hey, I'm Walter

Walter is the heart and soul of the Locanda del Borgo. After a lengthy career in the sporting goods retail industry and over forty years of traveling through hotels across much of Europe, he decided to leverage his experience by opening a cozy accommodation in the very place where he grew up. He has an in-depth knowledge of the area and enjoys sharing its beauty and traditions with guests, making them feel at home right away. Together with his partner, Dr. Gigetto Furlotti, he also established the E-bike Tour of Torrechiara, a service for renting electric bicycles, and has recently expanded their offerings with the opening of the Bottega del Borgo, which focuses on local culinary excellence. Walter warmly welcomes each guest, offering his expertise and a genuine passion for hospitality.

Area Collina

Torrechiara is a hidden gem nestled among the gentle hills of the Parma province, renowned for its remarkable 15th-century castle that gracefully and majestically overlooks the valley. The village is built around the fortress, featuring a network of cobblestone paths, stone buildings, and scenic viewpoints that evoke a vibrant and tangible past. The entire setting is steeped in a timeless atmosphere, perfect for those seeking tranquility, beauty, and authenticity.

Just a few kilometers away lies Langhirano, the birthplace of Prosciutto di Parma, along with numerous local producers of cured meats and cheeses, making this area one of the gastronomic capitals of the Food Valley. The Parma Hills, with their trails winding through vineyards, forests, and open views of the plains, offer endless opportunities for hiking or cycling amidst nature and flavors. The region is also rich in art, featuring Romanesque churches, wineries, and charming rural villages waiting to be explored, all just a short drive from Parma and well-connected to major transport routes.

Staying in Torrechiara means immersing oneself in a slow and refined experience, where every detail tells a story woven from culture, landscape, and a passion for traditions.
