Nestled in the serene countryside of Lazio, Casale del Tiglio is located within the Monte Abatone agricultural estate, spanning 14.5 hectares where vineyards, olive groves, fruit trees, and a small forest coexist in perfect harmony. Here, the production ranges from DOC wine—made from Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, Sangiovese, Merlot, Trebbiano, and Chardonnay grapes—to high-quality extra virgin olive oil from varieties such as Canina, Frantoio, Rosciola, and Leccino, as well as sheep cheeses and artisanal jams and tarts lovingly prepared by Patrizia, true delights for the taste buds.

The entire area is part of the ancient Etruscan necropolis of Cerveteri, preserving archaeological traces of great interest that testify to a millennia-old history. A stay here is enhanced by numerous activities: mountain biking, walks through forests and waterfalls, guided tours in collaboration with local experts, as well as sports like kitesurfing in Civitavecchia, rock climbing on the cliffs of Monte Sassone, and moments of relaxation along the coastal beaches and the waters of Lake Bracciano.

The farmhouse features two double rooms with private bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, a dining room, and a living room with a TV. Guests also have access to a swimming pool, a well-maintained garden, and a small forest with a relaxation area currently being set up. The cozy and functional indoor spaces are complemented by WiFi connectivity and a stunning view that encompasses the surrounding landscape, offering an authentic and rejuvenating stay experience.

Hey, I'm Patrizia

Roberto Iannilli and Patrizia Perilli have been a married couple since 1981 and are proud parents of Giuliana, a 23-year-old who actively contributes to their family farm. Roberto, a professional architect, decided to leave his career to passionately embrace rural life. In contrast, Patrizia works as a pharmacist and serves as the director of a pharmacy in Ladispoli. Giuliana has earned a professional diploma in cooking from a hospitality institute, showcasing her culinary skills. Roberto is also a renowned mountaineer, with climbing experiences in various locations around the world and approximately 150 first ascents in the Gran Sasso group. His mountaineering achievements have earned him numerous accolades, including two prestigious Paolo Consiglio awards, which are considered the highest honor for extra-European expeditions in Italy. The climbing crags of Sasso and Ripa Majala bear the mark of his efforts, as he has equipped and climbed nearly all the routes. On the other hand, Patrizia is an avid skier and has explored the stunning landscapes of the Apennines and the peaks over 4,000 meters in the Alps, as well as some destinations outside Europe, such as Greenland and the High Atlas. The family lives in a cozy home surrounded by a delightful array of animals: their domestic cats Bubbolina, Martino, and Minù, the traveling turtles Rughetta and Amilcare, a fox named Red, and two affectionate dogs, Topolone and Romeo, affectionately known as "the best dog of the Colosseum." Their environment is warm and family-oriented, reflecting their love for nature and togetherness!

Area Campagna

The area where the Casale del Tiglio is located is a true mosaic of nature, history, and agricultural tradition. Nestled within the Monte Abatone farm, the farmhouse is surrounded by an authentic rural landscape, where vineyards and olive groves harmoniously alternate across 14.5 hectares of cultivated land, accompanied by a small forest that adds freshness and biodiversity to the environment.

The land is shaped by human hands and a respect for natural rhythms: the selected grapes—Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, Sangiovese, Merlot, Trebbiano, and Chardonnay—produce high-quality DOC wines, while olives from the Canina, Frantoio, Rosciola, and Leccino varieties are transformed into fine extra virgin oil. Sheep graze freely in the fields, contributing to the production of genuine cheeses, alongside seasonal fruit cultivation such as figs, persimmons, oranges, lemons, and cherries, which are key ingredients in the artisanal jams that represent some of the most distinctive flavors of the farm.

However, Monte Abatone is not just about productive countryside: the entire area is situated within the ancient Etruscan necropolis south of Cerveteri, dating back to the 7th century BC. This historical context gives the area a unique atmosphere, where the allure of visible archaeological remnants in the landscape merges with the beauty of nature and the authenticity of rural life. Strolling through these places means traversing centuries of history, in a rare balance between past and present, and between culture and nature.
