Overlooking the hills of Ranzi, just a few minutes from the sea and the Pietra Ligure highway exit, Il Capanno is a welcoming family-run establishment that combines hospitality, traditional Ligurian cuisine, and a deep love for the local area. The three recently renovated rooms are located above the family restaurant and are designed to provide a peaceful stay, surrounded by greenery yet close to the beaches and inland trails. Each room is simply and thoughtfully furnished, featuring a private bathroom, heating, air conditioning, a hairdryer, a TV, a small refrigerator, a kettle, linens, and towels. The independent entrance ensures privacy and convenience, while Italian breakfast is served in the morning at the restaurant, available upon reservation.

The vibrant heart of the establishment is the restaurant, which began in the 1960s as an idea from Grandpa Bartolomeo and has flourished over the years alongside the Rembado family's passion. Here, guests can savor authentic dishes from Ligurian tradition, prepared with fresh ingredients sourced from the family farm: homemade pasta, garden vegetables, extra virgin olive oil, farm-raised meats, and fresh fish. The menu, enhanced by a selection of local wines, also includes gluten-free options, thanks to collaboration with the AIC, featuring gluten-free pasta and a dedicated fryer.

Il Capanno also serves as the perfect setting for private and corporate events. With three indoor rooms and a stunning terrace overlooking the sea, the venue can accommodate up to 180 guests, offering customized menus and full assistance in organizing weddings, ceremonies, or business dinners.

Nestled between the sea and the hills, Il Capanno is an authentic place where guests can feel welcomed, enjoy homemade flavors, and experience the rhythm of nature, all while being embraced by the warm hospitality of the Rembado family.
Rooms and Rates
Breakfast is served every morning in our restaurant, but it must be reserved the evening before. We offer a traditional Italian breakfast featuring simple and authentic products: coffee, cappuccino, or tea, along with bread, butter, and jam, pastries, homemade cake or tart, yogurt, and fruit juice. We do not provide a buffet service; instead, we prefer to create a relaxing and attentive atmosphere, emphasizing the quality and warmth that define us. Please note that breakfast is not available on Wednesday mornings.
The restaurant Il Capanno is the vibrant heart of our establishment, a place where Ligurian cuisine comes to life through authentic dishes and genuine flavors. Established in the late 1950s from the vision of our grandfather Bartolomeo, it has evolved alongside our family, preserving the simple and welcoming spirit of its origins. The original dining area has expanded over time to accommodate up to 180 guests, featuring various settings and a beautiful terrace overlooking the sea, perfect for outdoor lunches and dinners during the pleasant season.

Our cooking is deeply connected to the local area and the seasons. We use ingredients sourced from our family farm: fresh vegetables, aromatic herbs, extra virgin olive oil from our terraced fields, fruits, eggs, farm meats, and always fresh fish. The pasta is made in-house and prepared at the moment of ordering: ravioli, taglierini, and pansotti with walnut sauce are just a few of the specialties we offer, along with traditional main courses such as Ligurian-style rabbit, snails (in season), mixed fried fish, and oven or grilled fish.

We also pay special attention to dietary needs: we are members of the Italian Coeliac Association (AIC) and take great care in preparing gluten-free dishes, using a separate fryer and certified ingredients. Our wine list features selected labels and bottles produced directly by our family, ensuring the perfect pairing for each course.

Il Capanno is also an ideal venue for ceremonies, weddings, corporate events, and special occasions. We provide tailored solutions based on our guests' needs, from menu selection to space arrangement, with the option to collaborate with professionals to make every event truly unique.

Whether it’s an intimate dinner, a family lunch, or a large reception, we welcome every guest with warmth and passion, honoring traditional recipes and maintaining our usual quality.

Hey, I'm Cristina

We are the Rembado family, and for generations, we have passionately dedicated ourselves to the hospitality and restaurant industry. It all started with our grandfather Bartolomeo, who in the 1960s established Il Capanno, beginning as a small refreshment point. Since then, we have enthusiastically carried on his legacy, blending tradition and simplicity in a warm and authentic family environment. Today, in addition to the restaurant, we also manage a small guesthouse above the establishment, where we welcome guests with the same spirit of hospitality that has always defined us. We love to make those who stay with us feel at home, offering genuineness, care, and attentiveness in every detail.

Area Collina

Il Capanno is located in the hilltop village of Ranzi, a district of Pietra Ligure perched between sky and sea. Here, time seems to flow more slowly, surrounded by the scents of the Mediterranean scrub, stone walls, and the winding "caruggi" that weave through the three hamlets of the town, offering picturesque views of the coastline below. It serves as the perfect starting point for nature lovers: numerous trails branch out into the surrounding woods, ideal for leisurely walks, more challenging hikes, or mountain biking.

The hillside provides tranquility and a charming panoramic view of the Gulf of Pietra Ligure, while still offering the convenience of being close to the sea, which is reachable in about 10 minutes by car. The sandy beaches of the Riviera are perfect for a day of relaxation or for exploring the Ligurian coast, rich in fishing villages and traditions. Those arriving by car will find easy access due to the proximity to the Pietra Ligure highway exit, just 3 km away. There is also a bus service that connects to the town center, but having a car remains the most convenient option for moving freely and discovering the inland areas.

Between sea and hills, relaxation and authenticity, Ranzi is an unspoiled corner of Liguria, where one can leave behind the daily hustle and rediscover the beauty of simple things.
