Castellucchio is located just a few kilometers from Mantova, in an area rich in centuries of history, art, and nature. This peaceful village, surrounded by fields and typical rural landscapes of the Lombard plain, offers an authentic stay away from mass tourism, while still being conveniently close to culturally significant centers.
Mantova, a UNESCO World Heritage Renaissance city, is only 12 km away. It gained fame under the Gonzaga family, who transformed it into one of the artistic and cultural capitals of their time. Among its treasures are the Ducal Palace, Palazzo Te, and the stunning squares that overlook the glacial lakes encircling the city.
Not far away lies Sabbioneta, founded by Vespasiano Gonzaga and designed as the "ideal city" of the Renaissance. Its regular streets, perfectly preserved walls, and noble palaces provide a unique journey back in time, in a setting that, alongside Mantova, has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Another captivating location is the Sanctuary of the Grazie in Curtatone, about 5 km from Castellucchio. In addition to the charming Lombard Gothic architecture of the church, the village is famous for its historic fair of madonnari, attracting artists from around the world each year and turning the streets into an open-air museum.
The area is traversed by the Mincio Park, a natural oasis that follows the river's course and offers ideal landscapes for walking, biking, or boating. With its villages, historic villas, cultivated fields, and natural areas, the region presents a perfect balance of art, history, and nature, making every visit filled with inspiration and discoveries.
